Runewright's Arms
« on: May 12, 2015, 02:29:50 pm »
Company Name: Runewright's Arms
Intent: High quality laser firearms, Shroomsteel-plated armour.
Location: Terra Solus, part of the Truffle Empire
Affiliation: Truffles/Humans
Worth:  Priceless. The shroomsteel made in here is the perfect conductor for electricity, which makes it so.

Description & History: Runewright's Arms was founded first when Truffles allied with the Humans. Some truffles started working at LorkTech Industries. After their research of lasers and shroomsteel, they started operating independently, giving LorkTech 50% of the sales. Their only product at the moment is the SHR-14.

Modularity: None
Production: Custom-made
Material: Steel, Shroomsteel.

Classification: Laser Rifle

Description: An attempt to improve the usability of the S.I.R by Runewright's arms, the SHR-14 was specifically designed for the Humans to defend the Truffles. Still a prototype, the special power cells and the gun itself are very expensive. The power cells are rechargeable up to 10 times, after which they are dismantled for the remaining Shroomsteel in it. It still suffers from the same overheat issues the S.I.R is having.

SHROOMSTEEL PLATING
Price: 500 000-2 500 000 per suit of armour, depending on size
Ability: Advanced laser defence
Description: A service of Runewright's Arms, shroomsteel plating gives your armor almost 100% defence against lasers. It cannot be applied onto fabric or other pliable surfaces. It is temporary, and must be reapplied every 6 months for it to have proper effect. Reapplication of shroomsteel costs 100 000-500 000 depending on the size of the suit of armour.

Why not? It's not like everyone and their mothers would buy these guns. They are custom made, and they only produce them for the Humans.

Why only for humans? I mean I know their allied with the humans but only selling to them doesn't really make sense.

Humans are the ones keeping them safe. They don't want to supply every race with guns that can overpower humans, since they put themselves in danger by doing so.

So it would pretty well be impossible for a Synth or Zidian to get their hands on one...
So Humans and Truffles now have OP metal and weapons, okay then.

Zidians have OP tech, Synths have "immortality". And the OP guns are made from said metal.

Fair points I guess, there are some things we should probably tone down but I think I'm in the minority on that opinion.

The metal's only really good for conducting electricity and dissipating directed energy weapons. Considering how common ballistic weapons are in the universe, and how soft the metal is, I don't think Shroomsteel is going to bring about the end of days. It's kind of like buffed gold, in that respect. Shroomsteel coins, anyone?

No, I agree with you Vulnus. I doubt the delicious mushrooms stole Lork-Tech tech and made blatant rip-off from a mega-corp without getting murdered. That and a hand full of shrooms could produce something that is four times better than something a mega-corp could make. I'm just failing to see how this is possible.

Who said they are 4 times BETTER? 4 times the price does not mean 4 times better. I am saying like 20% better, and it's not like Lorktech can't buy these, them being an earth-based corp after all. Hell, they even paid their debt off.

Okay, is the lore suitable for Lorknis now? Also, added Shroomsteel Plating and the SHR-14.
