So I might be getting my first gun pretty soon, which is really cool.

S&W Third Model, double action. .38 Smith and Wesson, which is a really cool old, old caliber. Buffalo Bore makes .38 S&W rounds that still have terminal capability, as opposed to the cheap, underloaded, lead-round-nose stuff usually made for it nowadays.

Ah, looks nice. Meanwhile I still have cheap old hand-me-downs, like an old (though newer than that example) .22 rimfire revolver. :V

And damn, was reading the Buffalo Bore .38 S&W page, the rounds they manufacture aren't suitable for top breaks, only solid frames. Too powerful on the hinges.

Whatever, really. I wasn't planning on using it as a self-defense item or anything.

How I wish I was allowed to own a .38 in England. No handguns allowed but if you can give a reason then you can totally buy a rifle chambered for .50 BMG, except I can't see an acceptable reason to own one of those over here.
