Dharlbrach the Destroyer wondered if the country he had invaded with his legion of monstrosities were filled with mad men. He recalled how pathetically easy it was to sweep into the capital and annihilate this country's leaders. There was hardly any resistance. He even personally beheaded the "president" and presented his head to the masses. Instead of the fear and loathing he assumed would be on the faces of the people, he was met with cheers and revelry. Again, had he taken over a country of mad men?
As he looked over the notices of the various changes he was making to the infrastructure that would ensure he would have a suitable power base for his operations, he noticed one of his new servants, Cynthia if he recalled correctly, barge in carrying what appeared to be a pile of letters.
"You dare to disturb Dharlbrach the Destroyer?" he snarled at her, giving her a scowl that would have made his enemies in his last world urinate in their trousers.
Instead of being afraid, leaving him dumbfounded, Cynthia simply beamed happily and dropped the letters atop his desk. "I'm very sorry, your greatness, but these just arrived! They're letters from the school you set up not too far away."
Instead of waiting for him to reply, his servant (or "personal assistant" as Cynthia insisted) took one letter and cleanly opened it with a letter opening. Unfolding the contents within the envelop, she proudly displayed what looked like a picture of him in pastel as some sort of red stick figure with horns. Though a horrible portrait, Dharlbrach was content that his new slaves were already creating images in his honor. That was good.
"Dear Dharlbrach the Destroyer, thank you for getting rid of the big meanie. Now that you're here you made things better. My parents now work and make money that makes all my little sisters get the toys they want. Thank you, by Jon," Cynthia read aloud the letter.
Dharlbrach the Destroyer barked out in laughter. "Clever child! To invoke such sycophancy pleases me. He knows better than to make an enemy of Dharlbrach the Destroyer! Enemies tremble upon hearing my name!"
Dharlbrach the Destroyer was pleased. Though he thought the people of this world were mad, they had no objections when he made himself their monarch. Tis a strange place to be sure, but it was also a good one for this would-be demon conqueror.
This is what would happen if a third world country got invaded by some fantasy dark lord.
