Title: Masakaruni Heavy Mech
Post by: Perigrin on May 01, 2015, 12:07:15 am
The Masakaruni is the peak of Zidian design in Heavy weapons platforms. Capable of carrying a truely obscene number of guns, this mech lumbers its way across the battlefield like a malevolent god, destroying all in its path.
Name:Masakaruni
Purpose: A sufficiently badass heavy weapon platform for Zidian High command.
Appearance: A large mecha with Reverse (Chicken walker) legs, with an oblong rectangular torso segment, an aircraft style cockpit at the top, and covered in 15 gun mounts of varying sizes.
Weaponry: Default config mounts Four Anhuty heavy cannons, one on each arm. These are 120 mm direct fire non explosive BFG's. It also mounts two grenade launchers on either side of its torso for usage against light armor. Four Furzun Machine guns are bolted into the torso, these are 10 mm armor piercing machine guns. A flame thrower is mounted downward facing on the bottom of the torso section, to fry curious infantry trying to Luke Skywalker it. Two rear facing Furzuns and two shoulder mounted Yeghul middle launchers finish up the load out. The monstrosity weighs 120 tons and has a max speed of 25 km/h under normal gravitational conditions. It is difficult to repair, expensive, and clumsy at best. As such, it is reserved for only the best warriors.
Armor: Several tons of Esgi Ablative combat armor.

I'm assuming this is based off the Warhawk/Masakari Assault Mech from Battletech, if so then that amount of weaponry seems fairly reasonable, maybe a bit more than the Masakari has but this is simply based off it.
The Warhawk/Masakari only weighs 85tons in Battletech, this weighs a staggering 120tons, so it's essentially a 'Heavy' Assault Mech, which justifies the extra weaponry even more when you consider Assault Mechs like the Dire Wolf that actually carried this amount of weaponry.

Its a Daishi Dammit, fucking Clanner. Also, its more like a Behemoth in appearance, actually like a Behemoth and Amaris's Folly combined in appearance. max speed is sub urbanmech, turns slow, THE GUNS! also, i named it after the Masakari because i love that things name.

Ok. you get a star of clan assault mechs. i will take an equivalent point value in Urbanmechs. UW0TM80! wait, no, A fuckload of Chargers. most people dont like the Charger, it being a 90 Ton mech with 5 small lasers as its only weapons, but i know of a secret tactic called "Punch them in the face with a 10 ton fist" which a lot of peopl dont get. also, i should mention that this shit moves impossibly slow and needs a large starship to move more than 2 miles at a time.

Urbanmechs r OP, plz narf.

They're also ugly as sin an' I ain't using no 'mech that ugly.

I totally endorse the 'Punch people in the face' tactic when using a 'mech, it's something considerably few Clan 'mechs, that I can think of right now, can do in comparison to the more common IS 'mechs.
Unless you're bringin fuckin' Protomechs into this shit, I'll fuck all of your Urbanmechs up with them.

Look, i know IS mechs are old, slower, and underarmed. but they are much cooler, and way more dependable for campaign games. speaking of, i actually was thinking of doing a campaign style game here, with like a shared battleground of sorts (some Multiplayer battletech adaptation), with us having to recoop losses, rebuild, buy gear, n shit.

IS 'mechs do have a cool factor that beats pretty much all clan 'mechs, with the exception of the Timber Wolf because absolutely nothing has ever been as cool imo, maybe even the Nova Cat too, I can admit in an extended slugging match the IS 'mechs can stay in the fight for longer, assuming their pilots are decent.

A BattleTech game on here could be quite fun actually, if you can think of a good way to make it work and maybe find enough players, although that depends on the style you do it in.
