Company Name: DakkaLand
Intent: Mass-produced arms and ships for orcs
Location: Terra Adimere
Affiliation: Orcs
Worth: 60 billion Bolts (100 billion credits)
Description & History:
Started when Orcs first started manufacturing metal, they originally made spears and swords. When an alien race attacked the Orcs, everything changed. The Orcs were victorious, and gained weapons, scrap and such. DakkaLand then started to reverse engineer firearms and ammo. A couple decades after, the first orcish weapons were produced, The OBL-01 and the OMG-01. A century later, they discovered energy crystals, which made them become way more technologically advanced, and produced the OTC-01.
Since then, DakkaLand has signed an agreement with SiegeWorks, allowing them to use SiegeWorks's workshops to build orcish spaceships, as long as they give SiegeWorks 20% of the ships for their own use. They build the OBL-01 and the OMG-01 in their own workshops on Terra Adimere.

THE ORCISH THUNDER CANNON-01
Image: (https://i.imgur.com/O2TCGIr.png)
Intent: A energy cannon used by the OAF.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: DakkaLand
Model: OTC-01

Size: Handheld
Status: Military
Length: 1,5 metres
Weight: 20,2-27,4 kg
Ammunition Type: Energy Crystal
Ammunition Capacity: 1
Range: 200 metres
Description: The only energy weapon DakkaLand has ever produced, the OTC-01 gets it's power from naturally occurring energy crystals on Terra Adimere. It works by directing electric current through the energy crystal, which makes the energy crystal superheat and launch a supercharged lightning wave towards the enemy. The electric current hops from enemy to enemy for a bit, before dissipating. Orcish ships use a supersized version of this to disable enemy ship's electric systems. They can be unreliable sometimes due to being made of scrap, and as always with DakkaLand weapons, each weapon is unique.

So, the first Orcs to make firearms? Approved.
-
I'm enjoying this competition, although I was intending for the Orcs to be one of SiegeWorks most frequent customers, perhaps a trade deal between Dakkaland and SiegeWorks, allowing Dakkaland to use SeigeWorld manufactories to begin producing Orc ships in return for providing some of those ships for the SiegeWorks private military?

Okay, this actually seems like a good idea. Support.
-
SeigeSiegeWorks seems like a company that would like Orcs a lot, given they'd have needs for massive amounts of weapons, more than they can produce themselves, and probably not particularly care about the quality too much since they'll eventually turn them into scrap anyway.

More comments are always welcome.

make the ammo called dakka not dakkaland

make the ammo called dakka not dakkaland
Take .38 S&W as an example. It isn't .38 Smith, it's .38 Smith & Wesson.
-
BUT DAKKA
IF IT'S CALLED DAKKA THE YOU CAN SHOOT PEOPLE WITH .308 DAKKA
Come on, this is cool and I'm not just tired.
-
NEEDS MORE DAKKA
.308 DAKKADAKKA
-
Lookin' good, gonna give this a Hibou Co. Stamp of Dakka
-
Added a new weapon. Tell me if it's good or not.
-
The ship based variant is essentially an EMP weapon?
That's actually pretty fucking cool.
I'd wonder if there's a chance for the handheld version of this to backfire, literally, with hilarious results.
"ME HAVE LIGHTNING GUN, YOU GO ZAP!" *BZZ* "AAARHG"

Of course there is, just like all orcish weapons.
-
I'd assume the Orcs are quite secretive about these energy crystals and as such wouldn't supply SiegeWorks with any to build Orc ships with, just in case they stole them? Because they totally would, and then build friggin' DEATHSTARS!

Orcs don't trust anyone. So they mount these weapons back at base, away from you.
-
Thats probably for the best, theres no telling what
poorly masterfully built weapon of mass misfiring destruction SiegeWorks would build with it.
-
Added images made with Pimp My Gun, and used MS paint to edit stuff that you couldnt use PMG for. Tell me how good they are, please?

That's one heck of a lightning gun to arc 200 meters. I did some mathematics to calculate the voltage required and I got some wacky numbers like 40 billion, and that number would change dreastically depending on the shape of the conducting electrode. I do know that the average voltage of a lightning bolt is between 200,000 and 500,000, and that a lightning bolt travels around 2000 meters at its smallest distance. I'm fretting over distance because I do know that the power required to arc electricity increases exponentially as distance increases. So long as the cells are rare/expensive/prone to failure (which I'm gonna guess they are), then I bestow upon this gun a Hibou Co. Stamp of BZZZZT
Also those pics are lookin' pretty good, Z.

They are pretty rare and they are kind of prone to backfire. And thanks :)

U stole my idea to use PimpMyGun! How dare you!
Im joking, they look pretty good. I was using effects to make them look slightly less PimpMyGun-ish incase any one else decided to use it too. Perhaps that'd be a good idea to do with these?
-
Well, I have used Pimp My Gun for a very long time. I am actually remaking the OBL-1, not looking built from scrap enough. And I was a dum-dum and forgot the trigger, so my gun can't be triggered.
-
Doublepost because new addition, the OMP-01. (You guys have forgotten sidearms?)
Btw Siegelion, hard to make sidearms on Pimp My Gun. I ended up fucking around in the normal version for a bit over an hour and then realized the old version had pistol parts.
-
Thanks for the reminder, it's why I've avoided making any sidearms yet.
OMP-01 is looking pretty good, I'd say it feels slightly less scrap than the others but I figure it's probably quite difficult to get that effect with pistol parts, I guess you could explain it away with it being the first weapon they produced they've had time to refine it enough.
-
Updated the pic for the OMP-1 to look more scrappy.

Train me in the arts of effects, because I can't even effects.
EDIT: Nevermind, I got it somehow. Look at them now?

//flails arms everywhere
Have a Hibou Co. Stamp of There's So Much Stuff To Stamp Send Help for both weapons. Updating the doc soonish.
