Most Indie games these days it seems are perpetually in Beta, it's all about grabbing the attention of people who buy every new gadget that comes out as it comes out; and if it's an Alpha, EVEN BETTER!!!
What those kind of people don't understand is that unlike an iphone, an Indie game in beta isn't necessarily going to be well polished, or even playable.
They also know once the game is fully released they'll have to start taking serious responsibility, everything from fixing bugs and glitches that they don't know how or are too lazy to fix to giving refunds to players who read the fine print.
It feels like the Indie gaming industry these days has become like the mainstream gaming industry, all about the hype and money, rather than making games that the big game makers don't or won't, and making them the way the players actually want them.
