I rented fallout 4 and I'm really enjoying it. I'm gonna buy it soon I think if I have the spare funds.

WILSONS MINI REVIEW OF SMALLNESS

Pros:
Most if not all of the companions are extremely likeable.
The combat is fantastic
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I love the voice acted protagonist.
I like how the game actually reacts to your companions. I went to one of the vaults with dog meat and of them said "What about the dog" I thought it was kinda Coolio.
I like how all the weapons look.
The world isn't empty in my opinion. There's a lot of memorable locations, like the shopping center ran by mister handies and gutsies.
People look human.
The voice acting is really good in my opinion.
The ai is improved
There's a minor cover mechanic.
There's cats

Cons:
The textures are a bit eh at times
The settlement building could be better
There's a few bugs here and there and it crashed on me once. Nothing overly major.
There's not that many notable settlements.
I don't like how the dialog wheel is.
Voice actings kinda cheesy at times. Mainly the trigger-men and the guards at diamond city.
The radio host repeats his lines too often I think.

All around I thing it's an 8 outta 10. On terms to something like MGS5

I think the reason there's few HUB cities is due to the level of detail they can pack in them, every city actually celebrates the Holidays, its December 1st in my game and Diamond City has Christmas decorations up.

They also packed in the detail in the companions. They interact with the environment, like if you take Valentine to a church he'll sit at a bench and start praying. If you take them to vault 111 and show them your dead spouse they'll comment on it. The companions in this game is amazing.

Road Leathers and the BoS uniform look decent, and your underclothes really don't matter. Specially if you run around in power armor all the time.

I kinda got rid of the vault uniform, but the Gunners plaid shirt and jeans looks pretty alright in my opinion. Goes well with the Assault Gasmask.

Silver Shroud is the only armor in the game as far as I'm concerned, its fashionable, sexy, comfortable, and sleek. It makes me look like a badass.

Its also the main reason why I have Curie around now, I need those stimpacks, you would not believe how many I have to stick into my self in a daily basis to even keep my health bar semi-full.

I go around in heavy reinforced combat armor with sunglasses and power armor.

I typically only buy games once all the DLC is released and all the major issues have been fixed with community patches.  Sounds like FO4 has a lot fewer issues than most similar games, I might have to only wait till the DLC is out and I can get the GOTY release.

Impossible creatures came out on steam. I've wanted to play that game since it came out way the fuck back. I made muscular dogs out of cougar and wolf DNA. It's just as fun as I thought it would be.

so, since I don't really want to make another thread and this is just for generally talking about games, does anyone know how to actually get mods to work on killing floor?

If you are installing them manually, I think there is a folder in the games directory? let me see...

alright, according to this, you simply have to copy the contents of the zip folder a mod is packaged in straight into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\KillingFloor
If the mod is simply sounds, meshes, and/or textures, I believe you won't have any problem just using them as is. If they are mutators, you'll have to activate them from the mutator menu in solo mode before they can be used. A lot of mutators conflict, so try them all one at a time before committing to them.

If it's steam workshop then just subscribe and they automatically install, but if what you mean is that the mods you've subbed to aren't appearing, the mods might not be supported by the server you are joining. as in, they don't have it installed themselves. some mods require both client and server to have them to function. maps, should be select able when playing solo mode and having them installed will simply make joining a server using the map faster. Just like a manual installation, textures/meshes/sounds are usually only visible to yourself, unless someone else also has the mod. (unless the server is using them, then everyone can see them.)

If your asking how to install mods for a server, I have no clue.

I mostly just play by myself, so I either run it as solo or as a listen server. Guess I'm going to need to start downloading them manually since the workshop isn't working for me. Thanks for the info though.

Oh, might I ask why? Nothing against it, to each their own, but I always figured KF was better when played with strangers. As a side note though, you must be pretty good. I always believed KF was much harder when played alone.
