I think PayDay two did it well, but I think the reason was that they probably had a lot of input from the devs of Hotline Miami.

Also, did you guys hear about that blatant Hotline Miami rip off?  I don't recall the name off the top of my head but Total Biscuit did a video on it. Looked like a total ripoff and was originally named Hotline before Dennaton asked them to change it.

Well the Fallout series has been awesome. The idea of it is cool already, and the execution has been great.

Goddammit. fallout is great and all (fallout 2 and New Vegas anyway), but the elder scrolls will always have a special place in my heart becasue Morrowind was one of the first games i ever played, and Oblivion was the first game i sunk a large ammount of time into.

Looking at the store page I'm going to wait for it to go on sale again so hopefully I can get the base game and DLC for what it would normally cost.
For reference: Base game normal costs $60, DLC normal costs about $25.
Since I'm not sure I'll like it may as well wait for it to  be cheaper. But yeah, when it's on sale and I have the cash I'm going to buy it, then I'd be up for that.

Doom is the first game I can remember playing. I was four.

Have you guys ever (im sure some of you prolly have) played UnReal World? I don't think Id be anywhere near where I am in terms of friends and taste in entertainment without that game. Without UnReal World, I wouldn't have sought out more game with some kind of crafting system, I wouldn't have found monster hunter freedom in the pawnshop where my mom worked, I wouldn't have seen the link to the Haven and Hearth wiki on the MH wiki and clicked it, would never have spent so much time with new friends in H&H, and those friends would never have shown me cataclysm.
never would have got into fallout, elder scrolls, minecraft, dwarf fortress, survival shows, metal working, and so much more. Vidya games can be great sometimes. UnReal World is great. MILK EXPLOIT FOR LIFE! literally. steal a wooden tub from a village, milk a milk bearing animal once a day, and survive on a tub of milk a day for he rest of your characters life.

Okay, kind of in poor taste Wilson(from my perspective guys, just an opinion), in it's own right the game is good, but for me personally it's run into an odd situation I'll call the Phil Fish phenomonon, the games great but the makers suddenly went insane.

That sums it up for me. I like to call it the Dayz mod effect though.

FNAF gets another game, and Silent Hills is most likely canceled. Del Toro doesn't get the funding for an H.P. Lovecraft movie based off of Mountains of Madness, and yet FNAF gets a movie.

FNAF has some legitimate appeal to a decent enough audience that if one is objective it can viewed as a TYPE of horror. Jump scares are actually quite scary, but people are easily desensitized to them(thus why horror shows are only open for short periods rather then year long). Then you have the theories about the vague story to create interest.
No, horror is not dead, it's simply the matter of a mildly interesting type of horror getting the limelight for a while. Soon enough most likely the jumpscare fest games will die down and we'll see better, more interesting types of horror emerge again to profit.
