Name that Game
« on: May 04, 2015, 12:30:14 pm »
Ever had those moments where you can describe the game but can't remember the title for the life of you, because I do and that really pisses me off.

So here is a game I remember seeing an LP of that I never finished that I can't remember the name of.
You are in place as a cameraman with a reporter in a Silent Hill esque town that is really foggy. There is some monsters that show up, and can kill the reporter. I can't remember how the graphics were or how old it was but I would say the graphics were at least PS2 era might have been better? What you would record would increase an amount of things like believability or something like that and others I can't remember.

...Could it have been a dream so long ago that I don't remember that it was a dream? auuuuuuuugh

It'll probably be Perigrin to help my ass out here, but I'll welcome the surprise of anyone else remembering this.

So I'm fairly certain it was a Mechwarrior game, like 90% certain because I remember killing a couple Catapults in one mission, and the ending of the game had I think a Hunchback in it, both definite Battletech Mechs.

The issue is that this game was on PS1 and I've looked through all of the Mechwarrior games I can find on PS1 and none of them look the same, basically I'm comparing the ending video of them all because that's the part I remember best, although I don't remember if it had multiple endings.

From what I remember it ends with a Mech running down a street, it runs up to a building with like pretty much no defences, I think just a couple sandbags outside, even though it's like the HQ of a Clan or something, I think, fires a missile at it and blows it the **** up, and then I'm fairly sure it was game over.

I barely remember any of this game but I remember loving the **** out of it when I was like 6 and barely being allowed to play it because it was my brothers (who don't remember this game among the hundreds of PS1 games we had) and they thought I'd break it.

I've looked at AC 1 and I'm absolutely certain it wasn't that, mostly because the mechs were definitely Battletech mechs and the game was first person ****pit view and I don't think it could have been Mechassault because I think this was before Xbox's even existed.

I've spent years looking for this game and found no trace of it, yet have very clear memories of my brothers playing it a lot.

It was MechWarrior 2. It apparently had a PS1 port, although it also only had clan mechs.

I remember a game that  had a demo of on the PS1. You were some kind of robot rabbit jumping around a stage collecting carrots or something. I remember you could jump really high and you had guns or something with lots of different weapons which were based, I think, on candy. the one level it had was pretty vertical. Don't remember what is was called.

I am looking for a game that Mrnocamera is trying to remember that I had apparently played before on the Skype group long ago but I can't remember???

He could remember that it might have started with A
it was a text based game
had base building mechanics maybe but it defiantly had customization
There is 3 classes Merchant, Adventurer, Diplomat (Maybe?)
You could select starting province and it effected your characters look and stats

Did you play as a lab experiment or a mech? Because I remember there being a game where you played as a test animal and you were handcuffed to a squirrel or something.
