Oh Undertale how I will buy you during the winter sale. Listen I got Caves of Qud because I need a roguelike fix, and I'm tired of playing DF's broken adventure mode and Cata:DDA's unbalanced gameplay (you're either a God, someone who abuses the movement system, someone who stacks things and min/max's to victory, or a fucking skrub).
I would've gotten Undertale because I know nothing about it other then the combat and the style its presented in, but there was another game that I got that was heralded by everyone for being the second coming of quirky RPGs and that was Lisa. And while I liked Lisa's story for what it was, the combat and mechanics weren't my cup of tea because I'm not a JRPG guy. Same with Earthbound, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and play it, I played up until after the first boss and I got kinda bored because random encounters aren't my cup of tea.
Its like all these games are coming out with great stories, but they use a JRPG system. And while Undertale seems to have fixed my problem with it, I don't think its worth the $10s if I'm only going to get 6 hours of quirky fun gameplay. I'll get it during the winter sale, and I promise I'll stream it... either that or Fallout 4. It depends if Fallout 4 is still considered "good" by December.
