In current culture their are three Tribes, two of which govern while the third left to continue the warrior ways of their ancestors.
Technology Level: After initial expansion the Venator settled into their territory and began producing technology that benefited their people. They developed technology that allowed their people to grow crops in almost any environment, medicine that protected them from the illnesses that had previously plagued them, and new forms of both on world travel and extraterrestrial travel. Modern weapons were also developed with a leaning towards weapons designed less around finesse or elegance and more straight forward and efficient killing weapons.
General Behavior: Their behavior is quite varied though if they view themselves as warriors questioning their ability or strength usually leads to anger and a challenge to a duel in physical combat.
History:
Coated in a thin lair of fur with pointed ears the Venator live on a planet that, as they described it, birthed them in order to drive them extinct and they simply refused to die. The entire planet is normally at temperatures humans considered abysmally(and nearly unlivable) cold, dipping into temperatures that would kill most species without proper climate gear and shelter. The species that live on the planet evolved thick coats or other survival methods which the Venator learned to use to their own advantage.
Up to and during their advancement into space travel the Venator were always a warrior culture and many tribes waged warfare with each other to take new territory. To this day the Venator highly value melee weapons, often preferring ornately crafted and personalized melee weapons in contrast to their more modern type weapons which are designed for the sole purpose of working in any condition and to kill their target with as little trouble as possible.
The many tribes eventually formed into three which were supposed to govern the planet and their territories peacefully as a response to outside forces attacking them. After several additional attacks one of the tribes called the Oaken Warriors broke off and took a fleet of ships and set off on their own(Terrans would later describe this tribe as ‘kind of like space vikings’ much to the confusion of the Venator). According to some records they acquired a planet, settled down, and still send out the occasional raiding party or hire out to help some group in combat, all at the discretion of their leader.
As a note none military craft of the Venator are often designed after the long ships of their ancestors, with a dome of energy keeping the atmosphere around the deck, though the crew tend to wear suits designed to allow the wearer to travel in empty space semi-comfortably.
