1948: The New Order
« on: April 20, 2017, 12:48:36 am »
History took an unexpected turn. D-Day was supposed to be a victory for the allies. No one expected the well armored Nazi soldiers, the twelve foot tall machine gun toting walking tanks, or the Arc Troopers. Entire squads of men all killed in a single burst from their weapons as they swept the deadly electric weapons over the battlefield.

Now the Reich rules America and the vast majority of Europe. Only a small contingent of rugged Soviet soldiers hold onto a small portion of Russia. The Japanese took over most of Asia and now they have an unsteady peace with the Reich. Resistance still lives in Europe and America.

That brings us here. Dissidents, the mentally ill, and those declared as 'deviants' were gathered up and thrust into cells wherever they were found. They would then be transported to the camps, normally labor camps but some were sent to the infamous death camps, where they would be put to work or death as the Reich saw fit.

Several individuals declared as Dissidents were being specially transported in a set of armored transport vehicles. No matter how much armor you have you won't be going anywhere if a bullet manages to disable your engine. The Resistance needed several of the men in these transports. But of course you already knew that, after all it was you they were looking for.
----
The heavy metal vehicle had been driving for hours and you'd become accustomed to the occasional bump in the road as you sat in the hard metal chair in your restraints. The faint sound of the two men in the cabin had lost any meaning it had initially had s the two completely switched to speaking in their native German language. The other prisoners offered little conversation either as they contemplated their fate.

You didn't hear the gunshot or the impact but you felt the vehicle suddenly stop. You heard one of the guards yell "Scheiße! Jemand schoss den Motor! Hast du den Schützen gesehen?" The response was also heard "Nein! Aber er muss in der Nähe gewesen sein!"

A series of pings sounded from the walls as bullets impacted or bounced off of the vehicle. After a couple of seconds the back door opened and a man climbed in and un-cuffed you before saying in a heavy French accent "Come with me now! Fritz will have called for help by now! Here, there are a couple of guns in there!" With that he tossed a bag into the truck.

----
Now, who are you?

Name: Katherine 'Kat' McKenzie
Gender: Female
Nationality: Welsh
Background: Her parents immigrated to the US in 1912. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1925. When she was five she had aggressively attacked another student at her school. Her parents took her to a psychiatrist to figure out what was wrong with her. The doctors declared she had a severe case of multiple personality disorder. Fast forward to 1946. She is in her mental support home when the Nazis attacked. She was the only one of her group that made it out. She fought so viciously that they had to retreat at that moment. In early 1948 they had captured her and now she is being transported to an infamous death camp.

Name: Heinrich (Dr. Heindorf) Düsseldorf
Gender: Male
Nationality: German
Background: Heinrich is what is commonly called a "pure blooded nazi" with blonde hair and pearl blue eyes, ever since he was young he had dreamt of being a scientist. His parents fled from Germany during the Great War to escape the horrors that were there, Heinrich was born in 1920 in rural Minnesota. In 1935 he moved back to Germany knowing people like him, blonde hair blue eyes, were basically worshipped. Soon after he arrived in Berlin the fürer himself came to visit him as he took an iq test in Germany that rated him as an absolute genius. He soon began work with the smartest people in Germany, with the outbreak of WWII his career kicked into overdrive. Fast forward to recent events, a few years ago he was told by a psychiatrist that he was mentally ill and unstable, so the psychiatrist recommended to stop his work, being a little stubborn, Heinrich kept working, the reason he is on the armored car now is for treason, he was selling military designs to resistance fighters. Notable projects that Heinrich participated in: Nazi bell, arc weaponry, and various experimental aircraft.

So quick couple of notes before I start this either later today or tomorrow.

The year this takes place in is in the title. It's 1948 in the RP.

And if I'm correct in what the Nazi Bell is, it didn't work in this.

You are correct, I misread part of it. Anyway we'll get this started later today.

Name: John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy
Gender: Male
Nationality: American
Background: Jack always knew he was destined for something big. Coming from one of the most influential families in North America, he was given only the finest of everything as a child, from his education to borderline immunity to the law.

Besides the obvious benefits of being a Kennedy, the family also instill in him a strong dislike of Communism, and during the lead up to the second world war, Joseph Kennedy, his father, used his various political positions to subtly garner support for international groups willing to oppose the reds wherever they may be found, such as the Spanish Nationalist Forces and the nascent Nazi movement.

Seeing personal opinions as secondary to the public's perception, the Kennedys shifted to a much more patriotic stance after  the US entered the war, with many of his relatives enlisting. Jack managed to use his father's connections to get both a commission in the U.S. Naval Reserve, and appointment to the staff of the Office of Naval Intelligence, a nice, safe job that was prestigious and respected, while keeping him far from the front lines. His service was fairly unremarkable until late June, 1944, when a series of historic and personal events caused a marked shift in his behavior.

The most significant event in his personal life was the death of his brother, Joseph Jr., who had enlisted as a bomber pilot against his father's wishes. Though available records from that chaotic time are not particularly detailed or even fully assembled yet, it appears he was shot down and killed some time during the failed D-Day invasion. While the personal loss hit Jack hard, it hit his father harder - Joe Jr. had, for most of his life, been groomed and prepared for one single event - becoming president soon after the war ended. With his loss, Joe Sr.'s focus shifted to Jack, who developed previously unseen ambitions and embraced his future whole heatedly.

This, however, was not the benevolent future that had been created for Joe Jr., thanks almost totally to the crushing failure of the Normandy landings. Joe Sr., always both somewhat sympathetic to the fascist cause, and considered a defeatist to the point it had ruined his own political career, had seen that the writing was on the wall for the Allies after the Nazi war machine easily slaughtered them on the beaches, and had accordingly begun the process of preparing his family to maintain their success should the war end unfavorably for the Allies or the US. Jack, as the new best bet for future political power, and in a particularly good position for it, managed to convince the Abwehr to recruit him as an espionage agent, and he spent the rest of the war passing secrets to the German intelligence.

This, combined with the efforts of the rest of his family, meant that the Kennedys were almost completely unmolested after the war ended, and unlike virtually every other prominent family in North America, managed to retain a great deal of power and wealth despite the rigid social and socialist economic policies of the new regime. Jack, (likely correctly) guessing that the road to political power in this new world order is to be found through military service, formally transferred to Abwehr field operations at the end of the war, aiding in the pacification of Occupied America. He has also officially joined the party, in preperation for the eventual civil reorganization of western society and to be best prepared to seize his position as controller of the Americas under the Third Reich.

(TL;DR Skills: Basic military training, advanced intelligence training, covert operations training, speaks english, german, and french, powerful connections, lots of money, etc. etc. I didn't really have a way to convey it without making this really long, but he's supposed to be a good, but not really exceptional military intelligence agent who gets treated like an exceptional one by most people around him.)

In early 1950 they had captured her and now she is being transported to an infamous death camp.
It's 1948...details are kind of important.

Now onto starting this thing!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heinrich, Katherine, and Erica Braum

The man shook his head as he finished uncuffing the rest of the prisoners and said "All we have for you are some old MP40s. Now you need to go right once you leave the truck and head straight down the road with the rest of us. We'll show you the way but stick with us."

The sound of several German soldiers yelling came from outside as the man walked towards the doorway. One of them came into view and began to lift his weapon when a bullet hit him in the head and sent his body to the ground. Hopping out of the truck the man motioned for you to go as he fired at an enemy you were yet to see. "Hurry now! We've got to do this quickly!" He shouted as his sturmgewehr fired at the approaching enemy.

--
Jack

The armored truck drove down the road towards the city you'd be operating inside of for the next few days at the least. Sitting in the front passenger seat you saw the countryside pass quickly by as your driver and Demolitions expert Paul quietly tapped the steering wheel with his thumbs. You heard him say idly in German "If only the radio worked out here. At least then there'd be some music, maybe the results of a local game of...whatever these idiots play out here...sorry sir, I forgot myself."

In the back were your two rifleman Oskar and Emil along with Schultz the Arc Trooper under your command. Schultz spoke through the window between the cabin and the back of the truck "Oh will you shut up Paul, we've been driving for the past six hours and you won't shut up about the damn radio not getting signal for the past four!"

Paul shook his head and you could tell he was about to say something when the radio crackled to life. Paul smiled under his helmet "Well I hope you like this new American 'garbage' you always complain about back at base Schultz." taking a second to look at his watch Paul said "We should be there in ten minutes. Could probably see the place once we're over this hill."

Coming over the hill you did in fact see the city you'd been assigned to. The checkpoint that you were soon to reach also stood out thanks to the watch tower with the multiple mounted machine guns attached to the sides. According to your orders a Behemoth Trooper was in what had become the Reich's Enforcement Office. A warehouse converted into an operation base for intelligence operations and starting point for anti resistance operations. The men you'd been assigned were there to aid in whatever operation you should require them for.

Heinrich was more or less stunned, he didn't expect anyone to save him.

Why are you saving me, I'm a German, a pure blooded Nazi, and you save me?

Kat dived for the nearest smg and jumped out following the man.
"Finally some bloody action!"

Jack suppressed a smile at the exchange of his companions. They were alright - he had a hard time not thinking of them as just a bunch of kids, in a strange land far from home, despite him not being any older or the current incarnation of the United States being really much more familiar to him. Though he hadn't worked with them before, he'd found it was fairly easy to integrate himself into their circle, despite his initial reception as a somewhat untrustworthy Amerikanischer Helfer. For the most part, he was just happy that he wasn't stuck with a bunch of SS jackasses. While most people in the Party were pretty normal, something about the blackshirts, particularly the ones he frequently found himself working with, was a little unnerving.

As they pulled into their new posting, Jack couldn't help but marvel at how little the city had changed since his last visit, pre-war. Besides the heavily armed structure looming in front of him, and some flags that would have looked more than a little out of place a few years earlier, you'd be pretty hard pressed to actually notice what had happened, or that a low scale insurgency war was raging every day.

Paul pulled up, and shut off the engine, killing the lights and the jazzy sounds coming from the radio it a sharp click of the controls. Grabbing his hat from the dash, and adjusting it on his head, Jack jumped from the cab, and walked to the back of the truck.

"Sarge," he said, eschewing Paul's lengthy, formal german title for the more causal and convenient American term, "You and Shultz will come with me to report." He glanced at the two riflemen dismounting from the cargo bay, and switched to German. "You two secure the truck and check out the area. See what our neighbours look like. Find a good bar too, if you can."

As his men moved off, he took a deep breath and entered the warehouse. "Sieg Heil," he exclaimed, snapping a sharp salute that was matched by the men next to him. Though he'd been given the impression that this was to be more or less his command, he assumed a senior officer would likely be present to hand over the command, or to act in a supervisory role. Better to embarrass himself saluting to inferiors than to accidentally breach protocol. "Stabsrichter John Kennedy reporting, sir!"

Erica just silently grabs an MP40 and legs it down the road.
