Oooh, this gonna be good. o3o

Already getting rough ideas for how to handle the turn. I wonder, should I do a proper Seeker of the Arcane start and get properly in-character...

Go for the proper. Good stuffs.
A thing I am realizing is that doing play by play style posts like for DF games is not viable, because cataclysm has long stretches of not excitement. Fun stuff, but not exciting or interesting to read. "and then I opened the can of tuna. and then I crafted forty makeshift lockpicks. and then I killed a zambi... again." Cataclysm succession is a true test of ones ability to write and be entertaining. So, I'm going to do a bit of a time jump with the writing. I think I left off on a good enough cliff hanger to do that. I will post my next update when I hit summer.

I'm not entirely sure how to handle my turn.

I think starting later in the Cataclysm, such as the winter or summer starts, would be viable. I am a fan of the Naturalist occupation in theory. Wanderer on steroids.

And I think I've got a rough idea of how to handle writing entertainingly while still keeping true to the narrative. Hopefully. Expect my character to get drunk and high a lot, without any real tangible reasons sometimes. Same for consuming/creating morale-boosting foods and drinks when there're better, more nutritious ones available, and other such things I could see someone actually doing.

I mean, would you roast some fox intestines over a small ethanol powered stove with a bone skewer, or would you eat some fucking marshmallows and cookies? If you've got a good amount of water collected in gallon jugs thanks to the NEVERENDING FUCKING RAIN, would you worry about what a few swigs of gin or rum would do to your hydration? Roleplay, man, roleplay.

Event: An elderly human feeding itself to a group of kakapo. Did not express pain, appeared ambivalent.

Might be a nuisance to roleplay out, yeah. But if I pick Seeker of the Arcane, there's good odds that there'll be a horrible death. o3o

And hell, I'm thinking I'll start by straying from my usual array of must-have traits.

Since resources are going to be low I am going the wilderness route with the Bionic Sniper; just having a hard time balancing it out. The cities will really be hardly worth it for me with the dead in there and little loot amplified with other people competing for resources. Its military bases and labs for me baby!

Think I'll mostly be a wilderness survivor, foraging from bushes and shooting/bludgeoning the occasional coyote or cougar. I'll probably supplement with quick get-in, get-out raids on houses and liquor shops near the edges of cities. Maybe the occasional mansion.

But we don't have your encampment mod enabled, do we? ;w;

However, if you find a strange grove, same advice applies.
