Think I'll mostly be a wilderness survivor, foraging from bushes and shooting/bludgeoning the occasional coyote or cougar. I'll probably supplement with quick get-in, get-out raids on houses and liquor shops near the edges of cities. Maybe the occasional mansion.
I you find a very well built wilderness camp, STAY AWAY!!!
Eh, probably wouldn't even if encampments were enabled. I'll only go for gas stations, campsites, roadside foodcarts, LMOEs, and the like when it comes to the wilderness.

AND NAW FUCK STRANGE GROVES
Area Record 1782:
Date: 08/29/██

Event: An elderly human feeding itself to a group of kakapo. Did not express pain, appeared ambivalent.

But we don't have your encampment mod enabled, do we? ;w;
Not what I meant and no it is not enabled I will be making mini camps to live in and leave only when food is low.

Ohhh, did you mean like, if I find your base?

*loads all the weapons and food into his shopping cart, lights a stick of dynamite in the center*

Naw but in all seriousness I don't think I'll be taking from bases of other participants much at all. I mean, I'll peruse through the place, and might help myself to a bit of somethin' somethin', but I'd probably leave something else in return at a later date.

FITFY

I will be more of a nomad and might settle down in a military base or something, those mini camps are more of supply hunting points.

alright I will.

EDIT: Ok, the plan might be out the window. A small horde showed up, forced its way through the boarded windows and.... NPC heads started exploding. All over the place. All of them. It seems this experimental version is seeing a return of the notorious "head explosion" bug.

EDIT EDIT: I think it's related to the distinct gun magazines. Under normal circumstances, an NPC fires it's gun until the magazine is empty or the zombie is dead. If they empty the magazine, they simply reload the gun with no problem. If they kill the zombie before the magazine is empty though, they attempt to reload but can't for some reason. So, they drop their gun and continue attempting to reload at which point the anti-error-loop measure kicks in and what you are left with is a shower of blood, brain, skull fragments, and a headless NPC. The only NPC's not effected are the ones armed with melee weapons, or guns that don't use a removable magazine such as shotguns or revolvers. or the ones using bows/crossbows.

Aaaaand deaded. It's been awhile since I've had such a short lived character. Just... wow. gimme a minute to get everything set and have a short write up. It's also the first time I've had the game over screen say anything other than "You are forgotten among he millions lost in the cataclysm." It said something about the refugee center falling to the cataclysm and the traders there dispersing only to be destroyed by marauders.
