Kathrine, looking over at the cooking shed, shakes her head.   "Miss Roxanne isn't a meanie..."  She mumbles, and wanders off to try and find her.

Nathaniel, having now gotten most of the explanations by now, regarded Hector with uncertainty. "So. I had my ass saved by an old acquaintance I thought died during that early fuck-up, when the unit rolled into town to deal with so-called rioters. Said formerly dead is apparently now a knight, which seems to be the least weird part of this. And apparently he never joined Division VIX. Our unit. So now he lives on a farm just down a road I know used to not be here, right over what my maps said was an old supply bunker, which I sure as hell didn't see any sign of. That about cover all the weird shit involved here?"

The knight gave a nod at that. "Seems to. I'm going to need Roxanne to explain this shifting thing, I guess. Then I'm going to have to ask her whether 'doppelgangers' or any such thing factored into her theory here..." he said, likely all this still overheard by Floyd, and possibly Kathrine.

So, basic idea I had was, every character we ported over was at the expense of another made in this world, right? These could be RPed as this world's equivalents to the characters, all of whom died at some point before the shifting, and all of them having done something differently. Or they could be played as other people. In fact, I'm already thinking up one possible example of the latter.

Roxanne still in the radio 'station' when she heard the noise of the tank roll by. She was about to go and help the wounded fellow the knight had talked about briefly when the radio started up, another incoming broadcast. "I had my suspicions before...I could tell from your voice but now I can feel your aura...I am close by...Roxanne Luna, glad to see you are still alive!" Roxanne was in shock and horror. The stranger's voice was the same from before who claimed he was coming, he knew her name and claimed to have felt her aura. She had only heard about such terms in one setting and the voice from the radio was familiar to her. All of this had started to become strange and unsettled Roxanne.

The radio started once more. "The failed cultist who was made to get rid of impure, how fitting that you would survive. I can sense thing has ve change; could it be you have finally seen the light? I have been keeping an eye on you since before the world fell to ruin. Don't worry, I mean no harm, the order had fallen, so has all of it's laws. I simply want to speak and seek relief from all this chaos and your offer seem to do just that. I am close to your farm now and will present a gift on arrival; all will be revealed when I get there."

At this point Roxanne was utterly terrified, who was this man who knew so much about her? He said he had been following her? What is this gift he talked about? He said he means no harm since the order fell? Many other questions where going on when Roxanne decided this broadcast idea had gone sour. She turned off the outgoing broadcast loop for now, "We don't need more loons like this one...". With that Roxanne sat at the Radio station's chair to think what just had happened thorough.

There's a light knock on the door of the radio room.   This time, however, Kath waits for Roxanne to open the door, at which point she lurches forward into a hug.   "I'm sorry for running away, Miss Roxanne..."  She murmurs.  "You're not mean, you're nice.  Nice is good.   Don't stop being nice."

Roxanne now accustomed to Kath's hug "attacks" from personal experience and others, but still shocked nonetheless, patted Katherine in the head. "Hey...why are you apologizing for? I should be the one saying sorry for being so reckless." Roxanne pauses to let Kath finish. "Don't worry, I won't stop being nice to you."  Roxanne still bothered from the man in the radio is now at ease knowing there is one less thing to plauge her mind.

"I'm sorry for running away and being stupid and calling you Boobie Lady and for calling you a mean word, and you're not a mean word!"  Kathrine seems to just be blabbering on at this point.   She hugs Roxanne tighter.

"Hey, don't worry about it, this isn't your fault." Roxanne's eyes widen as she recalls something. "Uhmm, Floyd, he doesn't know about this right?", Roxanne nervously asks. "You know what, nevermind, just try to cheer up ok?" Roxanne realizes the silliness of her request but has nothing better to say.

By now Hector had made his way over to the radio room, to explain a bit about what Nathaniel had told him, hoping they could gets things sorted out. "While I'm at it, have you heard anything from the radio? Hoping our visitor's alive and well, with good intentions." he said, partly wanting to ask Roxanne about just what else might be changed.

"You heard what the new arrival told me, right...? If this is true...how many of us do you think had these...what, doppelgangers?"

Kathrine is barely even listening to Roxy or Sir Loin, and looks like she's about to cry.

The knight looked over to Kath, giving a little sigh at that. Cue reaching over carefully to scritch behind an ear.

The distinct rumble of heavy machinery came to Catnips ears minutes after she felt the rumble in the ground, or sensed the rumble in the air with her whiskers. Sir loin had returned. She looked to the radio on her workbench. That thing was always noisy with chatter, so she kept it off most of the time. She turned it on now. "-ttles and bits. Hit the bank at da-" she rotated the tuning nob until the little LCD on the front indicated the number Roxanne had written down on the label attached to the back of the radio. "-ou in Nip? Catnip, pick up, over." She lifted the radio to the side of her head like a phone. "Hello?" It sounded like the knight on the other end. "Catnip, have you got an acetylene torch in your tools? Catnip thought about it. "maybe? I have lots of welders." She could hear the distinctive clank of Sir loins armor, in a manner she knew indicated him shaking his head. "No, that won't do. I have metal needs cutting and only an acetylene torch will do." Catnip looked around at the things on her workbench and spotted a magazine. She'd already sounded out the words on the front of this one. It was an issue of "popular mechanics," and the headline article was "build your own jackhammer!"
Catnip lifted the radio to her ear again and said "Will a jackhammer do?"

The knight pondered that as Catnip gave a suggestion, smirking a bit under his helm. "That would work as well, can bypass shutters by going through the concrete. If there's any way to get on running off of an electric motor, that'd be perfect. We have ways of getting one running off the solar setup eventually, whereas the gasoline will run out eventually." he answered over the tank headset.

Kathrine, already missing Catnip, is quietly wandering around the farm, trying to hunt her down.   Her ears twitch as she picks up the sound of her voice in the distance, towards Mistress' work space. "...hammer do?"  Kath hears, grinning at a thought.   She sneaks over to Catnip's little side area, and opens the door as quietly as she can.  Stepping inside, she speaks up.  Loudly.   "HI MISTRESS!  What're you doing?  What's that?"  She points at the magazine, face still plastered with that predatory grin.

"Sorry for the delay knight, had to give thought to...something that has been bothering me..." Roxanne sighed quietly while preparing to try and process the Knight's question. "Well, in the arcane the idea of other 'dimensions' is prevalent so it might be possible that the shifting merged or moved 'things' to another world, even another universe similar to ours but where our versions of ourselves are either different or not existent. Normally I would dismiss this fairly quickly but given that the dead have literally risen it might be worth entertaining the idea."

The knight nodded at that. "It's fine, you alright though? Look like something bad happened...guessing the person you got contact with got killed, then." he guessed, before listening to her explanation. "Not much stranger than the shifting itself, admittedly. Some things seem vaguely familiar, other places not so much. Time will tell what the full effects are, I guess."
