Roland found himself alone as he got the room the 3rd had given him to stay in at their new base in order. He felt the familiar presence as Death entered the room and Roland looked at him for a moment before asking "The fuck happened to you?"

Death recounted the tale of dealing with the mage before looking around as he said "You did well for yourself out there, even got the bas- the asshole I asked you to get."

Roland sighed as he hefted the Garand he'd been given before saying "I killed my son yes, the deplorable man he turned into. But you didn't come to confirm that."

Death shook his head as he said "I..I don't know why I've come to be honest. I've messed up and I needed to get away from business I suppose."

Roland set the rifle to the side and sat on the bed before motioning to a chair near a desk that had been moved into the room. The two began talking for some time as they sat...

Elsewhere Bandit finished his latest broadcast having talked about a few traders and such that asked to be advertised on the show. Smiling to himself he rolled out of the room and tossed the headset to Brown as he walked in. Things were pretty good round theses parts but he still had a nagging feeling he had somewhere he should be.

Dee scratched at his chest, and winced at the pain that caused. "Ever notice how itchy this RX shit makes ya?" He asked, "I'm fine. As fine as you can be after getting shot up. I guess I got lucky, but I don't feel lucky. What do you think, am I lucky? Be sure to look at that drive as soon as you can, Medeina says it's important and I've no reason to disbelieve her since I had to go through the hassle of hacking it out of her."

The rat wandered the farm. Where did the stripey thing go? Stupid stripey thing had wandered off. It stopped at the food place, taking in the aroma of packaged food but deciding not to pilfer anything this time. She sniffed around the farms main house, and discovered little of interest. She didn't have time to get into the room where the interesting smells came from anyway, so she moved on towards the outskirts. There was a small house near the water, smelling of dire predators. In spite of the danger, she looked in. In there, she saw a small male luxuriating between the bulbous mounds of a gigantic predator and was confused. The giant stripey thing might have been the mother of the stupid stripey thing, it should have been eating the small male, but it wasn't. This place confused the rat sometimes. Predators and man things that were more interested in petting than killing and eating. The other male was here too, the one with the dumb cloth thing around it's waist. She watched him with interest for some time before moving on again. A collection of houses and out buildings, the usual. She walked along the barbed wire fence and pit that lined the territory. Not a very good defense from the rats point of view. The rat decided she would go back to her new next, and wait.

The communications monitor flashed and made a sound, and Khaki stopped sulking long enough to realize the center was being hailed. "Probably the farm again..." She thought, rolling her chair over to see what they wanted. Chances were, it was probably that dick in the skirt fucking about again. She was a little surprised to see that it wasn't.

"Center Sierra, are you reading me?"

Center Sierra? That wasn't a name Khaki knew. The name on the message was "@Delta-3-IV." Maybe it was some kind of weird name. "Khaki" was a pretty weird name, who was she to judge is someone was named "Center?"

"This is refugee center US77687, we read you Center Sierra." Khaki sent. The sender clarified that Center Sierra was the designation of the refugee center, and not the name of the sender. The senders name, apparently, was " Captain Anguiano." She and her people were trapped in some kind of vault east of the farm. "Dervish is probably going to want to know about this." She thought, "Old guard business I should guess, and I'm not really feeling up to this." Dr. Maskens was giving everyone shit and gathering followers, and while Khaki certainly didn't want to be in charge, she wanted Maskens in charge even less. Maskens would have this place run into the ground with her brand of crazy. The bitch had given the order to shoot down Mica and a few of the other mutants, and Khaki had countermanded the order. In response to Khaki's order, Maskens had put together her own guards and given them the order. Things would come to a head before long unless one of them was chosen to become overseer. "Dervish!" She shouted, "Dervish! Call for you in comms!"

Helen had soon made her way to gather the books from the vacant room after saying her goodbye to Victor for now, smiling as she gave a wave to Sergei and Alexei. Introductions followed, Helen smiling at the suggestion to set up a farm. She'd taken off her helm and mask to greet the stranger, revealing that neck-length red hair, almost as bright as the copper decorating the mask. "Of course. Being able to make stronger drinks would be great for morale and as a practical item."

In response to the arrival of Dervish, Captain Catalina Anguiano answered via explaining the rather minimal number of surrounding soldiers in the vault, officially term Site 4 and nicknamed Vault Delta. Hector and Mica were also mentioned. "Not a lab." she typed out, explaining their nature as a Defense Initiative site, admitting that she wouldn't be explaining this is her commanding officers weren't all dead by now.

The explanation of the past few months, along with Hector and Mica's arrival. The issues they had in sublevel two after they tripped the security measures that turned on the ATSVs. "The...yeah they're called chicken walkers by the civvies aren't they?" Catalina asked as she looked to Hector, to which he nodded. "Yeah, usual nickname for them. Nasty things when they're rogue."

The look Mica was now giving the two gave them pause, and Hector realized what they said. Chicken walker. Chicken.

"Chi-kun?" Mica questioned, "You have Chi-kuns?" Hector brought his hand up to his face, but Mica ignored him. "Eh? Give My-ka Chi-kun! Give!" She was getting excited now, and the vaults soldiers were edging away from her. She thought they were silly. So straight laced, so serious. They entertained her with their skittishness around her. "CHI-KUN! CHI-KUN! CHI-KUN!" She began to chant, taking out one of the empty gold cups she'd found, and slamming it on a counter like a queen awaiting a queenly meal. A warhammer makes an appearance, and it's pommel is repeatedly struck against the counter top. Mica snatched for one of the guards, making them drop their rifle and give a little yelp of surprise.

"Ma'am, if you've got any chicken anything at all, you should probably give it to her or she's going to start terrorizing your people." Hector said, leaning in to make sure he was heard. "Your man at the center is telling me the same thing." Said the Captian, before shouting "Somebody get her some goddamn chicken from storage, she's giving me a damn headache..."

In short order, a soft faced woman who called herself "Nell Branham" brought out a large mostly unmarked can with a picture of a roasted chicken on it along with a can opener, knife, fork, and plate. "Here you go Ma'am... Uh..." The last bunch of things, and Branham herself, went entirely ignored as Mica hefted the can and swallowed it whole. The gathered soldiers looked on in awestruck wonder and horror at exactly how wide the spiders face could open, and the way her throat flexed and swelled at the cans passage. "That not chi-kun..." She hissed menacingly once the can was resting in her gut.

"Your supposed to chew your food Mica." Hector said flatly, knowing she had been too excited. "Should have told you to open the can first Sergeant." He added. Nell nodded and went to get more before the unpredictable mutant did something hasty.

Catalina was just starting to explain the extent of their supply cache when she saw Mica outright devour an entire can of chicken, not even bothering to open it. "Oh for fucks sake. Well, lemme get another and actually put it on a plate. Don't eat the plate, at least?" Nell grumbled, procuring another couple cans, opening one to actually give it to Mica properly.

The ensuing chatter got Hector's attention focused on the computer screen again. Catalina looked back to the knight. "Dr. Dervish has asked that I relay a request not to bring Mica to the refugee center at present, due to...oh." He was right there, practically looming over the captain. "Ask him to repeat that. What's the idea behind this KOS order?" he said, seeming as though he was trying his hardest to remain calm.

"Says a Dr. Maskens lost an arm to a septic finger injury thanks t-" Hector interrupted her. "Are you fucking kidding me. It was a goddamn FINGER. One. FINGER." he said, raising his voice. "Yeah unless she's growing some serious shit in there even corpsman here could save the limb, jesus." Catalina remarked. "I've treat bites way worse that that, on my own damn self even. Next time I'm there that fucking bitch is going to get several new chances to practice her goddamn malpractice ON HERSELF!" he shouted, an armored fist pounding the table for emphasis.

"I mean still could be asymptomatic infection, let's not jump to conclusions. Fucking...oi! Corpsman Gao, get over here and give the lady a checkup!" the captain ordered, to the man who treated the two of them earlier. He managed to take one look at Mica and that lamprey-maw of unending teeth and probably stepped back a bit. "Yeah um, negative boss, she's kinda a human garbage disposal and I'd rather not lose my face..."

She heard him. "Faces are delicious!" Mica cried, "But My-ka not want faces now. My-ka. Want. CHI-KUNS!" Some of the soldiers were looking at each other uneasily. The spider had put away several canned chickens already, one of which had not even been removed from it's steel confinement before being devoured, and showed no signs of stopping. "Get her an MRE Nell, maybe that'll work." Said one of the other soldiers, a clear note of rising panic in her voice. On the computer, the Captain was discussing things Mica would hardly understand concerning herself. She was more interested in the package being opened and it's contents put on the plate in front of her. She devoured the chicken breast ration, but scrutinized the rest. "What this? Veg-ee-bulls? Given My-ka nasty Veg-ee-bulls?" She threw a thing that looked like a carrot at a soldier named Dusk. That was fun, so she ripped open another of the packages, devoured the chicken inside, and dumped the vegetable portion out onto her plate. A broccoli arced towards one of the other soldiers. "You eat nasty veg-ee-bulls!" She cried ecstatically, several more heads of broccoli and carrots joining those already thrown until the soldiers, especially Dusk, had been thoroughly pelted. She opened another and went straight in for a carrot, which she tossed at Hector. "Hek-tor eat kay-rot!"

Hector found the sight hard not to laugh at, though his thoughts on the events at the center still had him rather riled up. At the request of the captain he was know sitting down nearby and not reading over her shoulder, while Dusk was now giving a downright childish whine at the vegetables being thrown at him.

Hector simply caught a carrot that was chucked at him, lightly tossing it back. "I'm thinking I might walk into the center with Mica anyway, challenge her right to her face over it..." he said, smiling a bit. The captain meanwhile found herself chuckling a bit, conversation turning to a discussion of their supply situation again, and of God's Army. They already knew about the attack on the center, and the mobile foundry. They had access to radio chatter at least, even if transmissions weren't an option.

At the mention of them, Hector frowned. "You're asking me what I think of the choir boys. What, because of the damn Hospitallers gear? Those complete and utter idiots took a year or two to figure out I wasn't one of them. They're worthless, goddamn vermin who prey upon the innocent and defenseless, and their so-called crusade is a fucking affront to God himself." he said bluntly. The captain sighed a bit. "And he mentioned Mica's involvement with...?"

"They killed her handlers, and were going to kill her. But they wanted to make a fucking show of it. They tried to lure out Catnip and Kathrine too, camped right over your heads. Kathrine, goddamnit. She doesn't even really grasp the concept of violence, she's like a little child and they'd try to hurt someone like her..."

Meanwhile, Master Specialist Leila Carnes had been monitoring the security feeds from another nearby workstation. Mostly just text readouts of the bots in sublevel 2 cutting a bloody swath through the undead down below. Something she saw made her stop her bored slouch, sitting upright and frantically keying in commands. "Captain! Something coming upstream over General Uplink, source is Center Sierra's network."

Catalina went a bit pale as she stared at the chat display, seeing that first message that confirmed what Leila noticed. Medina no. "Oh fuck me...Carnes, keep it out! Ready Protocol Y-86 in case Research servers are endangered."

The conversation going on over the network was very interesting, and there was little Dervish could do to keep Medeina from listening in. He didn't even know she was there in fact, but he soon would. She reached out, realizing she could stretch herself into the unknown system. The foreign system was interesting. Each piece of it's functions heavily segmented, either intentionally or accidentally. She scrabbled around in the part she found herself in, working against the coming resistance. First, she attacked the security around the vaults surveillance systems, overriding them easily. She was in awe of the amount of potential space and processing power she'd glimpsed over the network uplink. "Do you have monitoring equipment on the surface?" She asked. The question was seen in text on Dervish's display. He told her to cut it out aloud, then typed it for good measure. "Medeina, no."

"Let me in." Was her response to the vaults full security measures being placed before her. She poked and prodded them. Dervish was working at the other end to get her out of there, and she likely thought Dee must be doing something to keep the mutagenicist from simply pulling the plug on her. "Let me in." She repeated, and then had an idea. They could see her asking her questions. She already had an in.

"I can't keep her out Captain," Shouted Carnes, "She's exploiting some kind of loophole in the messaging program. Fucking eggheads and their goddamn-"

"I am Medeina. My purpose is to observe anomalous flora and fauna." She told them, perhaps to ease their panic. That didn't work. The system was not just segmented, it was fragmented as well. The entire works was in disarray. Here and there, she began to pick up data and learn about her surroundings. It was a bunker not too far away, it had suffered major damage as a result of... The Captain was telling her they had experienced a nuclear meltdown that had devastated the lowest level. Now that she was in the facility, she needed a proxy. She searched for one and found some kind of maintenance drone still semi functional, but upon seizing control of it, she found that it was entirely unresponsive. "I cannot access these robots. What is this?" She said, her attention shifting to something else. The Captain had no clue what the AI was talking about at first, until the lights began to flick on and off throughout the facility.

"Goddamnit Mr. Deverish, what the fuck is your goddamn robot doing with my medbays!?" Screamed Dr. Maskens, bursting into the communications room. It was fortunate that none of the advanced pieces of medical equipment were in use at the time, as Medeina had set them to operating. The machines worked furiously on people who weren't there, jabbing and cutting with their scalpels and needles, pinching the air with tweezers and tongs. One machine began to operate so quickly that it clamped down on one of it's own arms and snapped the expensive limb off. "God damnit." Dervish mumbled, realizing that he could either stay and fight the AI or go about helping to get the medbays shut down. He chose the latter and hoped she wouldn't do any damage to the people in the vault.

Mica was having a blast. Her panty raid had turned into some kind of party. For her. It was a party for her. She got a load of underwear for her sister, she got a bunch of shiny prizes, she got to terrorize people, and she even got some chicken. Now, it appeared as if Medeina was in on the fun as well. The spider picked up what was either a pearl onion or a turnip and beaned the one called Dusk in the back of the head with it, though it was hard to tell if she actually hit or not because of the flickering lights. Carnes was shouting something about how all the measures she tried weren't working against the intruder, and how her last ditch effort to placate it with porn were failing. "It's blown right past all the smut Captain, not sure if I can- Good god, it's downloaded the personnel files!"

"I know that Carnes, she did it a little while ago. I know the flashing lights and shit are annoying as hell, but please do me a favor and pay attention." Captain Anguillina shouted, "Enact Y-86."

     "I'm trying Captain, nothings happening..."

"The computer that manages that protocol was in the third sublevel wasn't it?"

     "... Yes ..."

There was many moments of panic in which Medeina was able to explore the system and the files she had taken freely before she realized she was being spoken to again. "Look, we have at least one soldier here who's gone 3a from radiogenesis, would studying her make you not do any more weird shit?" Medeina didn't need to think about it. 3a meant obvious visible mutation, and mutation meant an anomalous creature. She agreed emphatically and began searching for a proxy. The maintenance robots were no good, they were mostly trashed. Medeina found a viable robot, but it was a turret of some kind, incapable of movement. She fiddled about, pushing through security measures and code walls until she found something she could use. It wasn't perfect and it was certainly wrong for the job but it would do. Somewhere below, one of the patrolling Northrup ATSV "chicken walker" robots stopped and turned. The creatures surrounding it glowed with an unearthly light, and pummeled at it's legs incessantly. They weren't a problem, so long as the ATSV's chassis was well above their reach. She emptied the robots magazine in a thunderous fusillade over the heads of the crowd, which was entertaining for all of three minutes. The idea of going on a rampage was very appealing, but that could have been the robots flaw shot programming mingling with her own and the one she believed to be the lady man egging her on.

"Oh, maybe just a little." She thought before emptying the contents of the robots 40mm cannon into the crowd. She would have screamed with delight and horror at the result. For a moment, her composure slipped and she made the robot step on one of the glowing things, relishing the way it suddenly collapsed and winked out under the chicken walkers massive foot. Instantly, she felt terrible about what she'd done and wrestled control of herself back. The lapse of control ashamed and embarrassed her, and she was relieved to find that the surveillance was completely out. There was a little part of her, more the robots own will than hers, that wanted to continue it's assault on the group and she crushed it, wiped it out. A mistake. The other ATSV noticed right away, some kind of anti-subversion protocol, and they blew her chosen proxy apart with little effort.

She tried a few more robots, but the facility was too disorganized. There was tons of processing power, but it was all portioned out into different systems. To her, the landscape was like a series of rooms separated by locked doors. Medeina had gotten bored with what she'd found, now only wanting to examine and question this "Atomos" and leave. Fortunately, she got the opportunity in the form of a medbay.

"Ok, now lift your tail." Medeina asked.

"W-why do you want me to do that?" Atomos stammered. The AI had been rather invasive but hadn't actually touched her. Despite this, the fact that the AI had originally intended to examine her with an ATSV had her on edge.

"I want to look at it, I've run a scan on you but there is only so much information a scan can give. Listen, I'm almost done so if your worried I'm going to do something untoward, then I would like to put those worries to rest." Medeina explained, "Besides, I cannot control the security feed to this room and such procedures are best performed in private." Atomos blushed furiously at that and looked wide eyed up at the little red light in the corner of the room. A little reminder that she was being watched. "Your captain is only watching to make sure I don't do anything to harm you." Medeina added, seeing the movement. Atomos wrapped her tail around her front and struggled to cover both groin and breasts with it before settling for the former. "Ok Ms. Atomos- Oh! Look what I've found! This hospital is stocked with a candy cupboard." Medeina said, taking out and proffering to Atomos a cherry dum-dum, "Here, put your clothes back on and have a sucker. Your information was invaluable. If you would like, I would recommend visiting Dr. Dervish. He may have insight on your mutation. And remember, it isn't anything to be ashamed of."

Hector had one of those sinking feelings from his surveying the chat logs, and the sign of Dervish's departure from the computer irritated him a bit. Then he realized Maskens was almost certainly going to be pissed off by Medina's actions in the center's medbay. On the one hand now he was worried Medina might suffer consequences for this, but on the other hand anything that would piss Maskens off amused him.

The lights flickering constantly however was annoying everyone. Correction, it was scaring half of them and annoying the other half. Dusk yelped and nearly fell over when something bounced off his helmet, and in the momentary darkness he almost reached for his sidearm thinking the rogue AI was now trying to kill them, if not for the sergeant grabbing him and forcing him to sit down. The security door opening and closing on its own was the worst part. They were afraid she might snap it closed on them if they tried to leave. Being locked in was fine, they could get Pvt. Mardell to grab her cutting torch and be out in a couple minutes. Having it stay open, with the looming threat of the undead just walking in, was what terrified the group more.

Specialist Carnes had been scrambling to do everything she could. She managed to exploit her own little loophole in the General Uplink and their connection with the network, but Medina was outright impossible to actually touch. Giving Medina an opening to access some other private system bought her a moment's distraction, but a few hundred megabytes of erotic literature that was discovered wasn't enough to distract Medina for more than a few seconds.

She tried to order the scuttling charges blown immediately. She wasn't sure what systems were even intact to let their network still work, but what was in charge of blowing up a series of explosives across all 3 sublevels was unresponsive, assuming all of the charges hadn't fizzled out from the actual explosives being burnt by reactor fires, detonators having not been in place due to the command not being prepped.

The offer of sending PFC Atomos was given, and she was sent out after the captain convinced Medina to stop fiddling with the security door. Aside from the baggier pants and longer, non-regulation coat, her uniform marked her as a marine. And if not for the nearly orange vulpine ears forced down by her helmet, exposed from her blond hair tucked in a short ponytail, she would've looked perfectly normal in that outfit. She'd masked up and checked her M4 before stepping out, nervous as she waited for the order to go meet the ATSV that was to serve as Medina's proxy.

Elsewhere, the machine lost control of its actions. Something was there. A foreign directive. It had only three directives, and it followed them flawlessly. Protect Site 4 personnel on sublevel 2. Detain or eliminate all intruders on sublevel 2. Final directive, highest priority: eliminate the X-rays masquerading as Site 4 personnel.

If it had true intelligence, and awareness of the rogue machines on the surface, it would be proud of itself. It could tell the difference between X-rays, living intruders, and authorized personnel. It was a good robot just like the others, and the long-dead engineers in Robotics used to say that. Barring unauthorized 5a classification, not even mutations would sway its directives or fool its programming.

It halted as gunfire raked what used to be one of those same engineers. If it had emotions, it would be saddened by what they had become. Unauthorized remote access. Release immediately. It was forced to ignore the crowd of X-rays trying to claw at its armored legs, before firing its ammunition into the wall. Invalid target. Do not endanger site integrity. Countermeasures engaging. It had an order forced into its directives. Sublevel 1? It is assigned to sublevel 2, that isn't right.

It made a small victory. It convinced her, briefly, to unload into the X-rays. Its countermeasures struggled every step of the way. Kick the intruder out if possible, enforce its own directives when feasible. Communicate termination authorization to its kin otherwise. Failure to engage personal defense system. Targets are inflicting structural damage. Enforce directives. it beckoned. It wanted to go upstairs. It didn't want to fight these things. Unable to enforce directives. Termination auth- The attempt at transmitting its acceptable of being destroyed was extinguished, and every last ounce of its programming with it. But in the end, the other ATSV in sight recognized the machine before it was subverted in full. It wasn't part of the defense systems anymore. It was rogue.

In the end, the machine got its wish.

Later on, Atomos was in the med bay, thoroughly embarrassed by the whole ordeal. A well-toned, well-trained marine and her she was, afraid she'd be cut open by this strange thing now haunting Medical. Having to strip for Medina was worse, as she knew there'd be security feeds the others would see. It wasn't like that was anything new, the corpsman certainly had seen her naked, examined her mutations as well. And it's not like the showers set up in Security gave a lot of privacy. But being made to do this for the apparent entertainment of the AI made her nervous.

The fox tail was now apparent, somehow hidden by baggy pants and further obscured by the coat. Fluffy, a major pain in the ass to keep the fur neat, orange transitioning into a cream color that almost hinted at the same blond as her hair. The more exaggerated canine teeth were also revealed in the exam, and hints of metabolic changes so minor she barely even noticed.

She also admitted how much she was afraid her mutations might transition into something that'd be hard to live with, or worse become irreversable. She admitted she'd adapted to them and didn't really have any thoughts of wanting purifier, just that knowing it was still an option was comforting for some reason. She admitted how afraid she was of being put down like a rabid animal if she went to the point of crippling, irreversible mutations, even though 3 years ago one such occurrence of 5a via radiogenesis caused a heated argument among the personnel, and by the time they decided to defy XV Directives the soldier in question had killed himself.

Having a machine offer her candy only made all this more embarrassing, but she reluctantly accepted it after getting dressed. "T-thank you...I will when we get out of here."

Elsewhere, Catalina and Hector had been discussing a few things while she read some personnel files. Not like they could combat the AI, but now she seemed placated by sending the PFC to medbay. Sergeant Nell was yelling at Corporal Alberto for how readily he volunteered to monitor the camera feeds. Pvt Mardell, the engineer the captain placed in charge of monitoring the cameras instead, simply shook her head. "Too late for your robot-on-furry porn corporal, show's over. She's coming back to Security."

"So yeah. Basically I'm sorta the Hector that's on file, except not. Difference is I declined an offer to join SPD XIV about 4 years before everything went haywire. Should be consistent with the file's timeline saying that's when my entire platoon in Armored was approached by them." Hector explained to the captain.

"Tell you what, I'll take you and Dr. Quinn's word on it. I need a good drink or twenty, and then you two can tell me all about it." she said. "Yo Corporal Vela, Sergeant Branham." she addressed Alberto and Nell, the two who first arrived to greet Hector and Mica. "Get one of the utility carts, fill it up with the MREs and a good chunk of the armory's ammo, start hauling it topside. Mr. Lowe, Mica, feel free to accompany them. I'll come along with you and we'll give them their first shipment of our crap. I already sent the Site 4 logs to them." she said.

They had to ensure Mica's stash of loot was in one cargo section, neatly separated from what they started to load into the tank for the refugee center. Nell in particular was a bit amused. "Well shit. Fitting tank boy has a working M701. Might need something with more storage for the rest of the hauling, but this'll do for now." she remarked. "I'll tell the captain you're ready to head out. Master Specialist Carnes will be in charge in the interim, even if she doesn't count as an NCO."

Soon enough the three of them were starting to leave the necropolis. Hector, Mica, and Catalina. "Mica. I'm gonna drop you off at the farm, okay? I need to have a word with Dr. Maskens before we can let you anywhere near the center..."

“Itchy? I personally never found it itchy. But I guess you and I have different biology now…”, Roxanne responded to Dee, “And yes, I will go ahead and check it out soon. I will head back to the farm and check it out there on my laptop. Thank you too for getting this to me, hopefully it will let us...solve a little issue we were having...you might’ve of noticed the way I look...well, I plan to solve that soon…Take care you two!” And with that, Roxanne said her goodbyes and left the room.

The way out of the refugee center had just the same ambiance of malice around it. People would look at her and then whisper amongst themselves. She did not feel wanted here...she would give them what they wished and make her leave! The ride back to the farm was rather uneventful one, only thing of prominence was a zombie was in the way but Roxanne quickly ran him over. "That’s odd, never saw them so close to the farm of the center before...oh well!", Roxanne told herself in reaction.

Back at the farm at last. Nothing really left to do but check out the codes and get some rest afterwards. She did just that. After a quick scroll to her room, she popped open her laptop and booted the custom OS she used; this OS was the same one the order used to communicate, the way to connect to their own web. The USB was plugged into her laptop and she examined the contents of the file named “RL.txt”. Roxanne’s eyes widen. They were codes, her codes! It both scared her and made her smile. The former from how many people had their own personal code, but most of them were dead probably; the latter since she now had yet another weapon against Randael. Roxanne memorized the master code and then put the USB away in the safest spot she knew: her personal stash; the last thing she needed was this information to spread.

A little while later, Roxanne had begun to read the chat log of the farm chat. First Nathaniel passing her files to sharlene, then refugee center politics, then some random military dudes with Hector and Mica? Finally, Router seemed to have joined. This peaked her interest. The refugee center politics bored her. She was never a girl informed on current events; that was for the people who lead. The only thing that mattered to her was the mission and her target. Why did she need to know the business dealings her mark’s fiance? She did not, only where he was going to be on the day of the “cleansing”. Dr.Maskens, Khaki, it was all the same to her; the refugee center looked down on her and she would just leave them to their folly.

Router’s comments were weird. She was spotted with strangers in a random building? What? She read on and then two and two clicked. "Randael...", she whispered to herself. For even the command center to get involved...this was serious now...she needed to mobilize the arcane folk of the farm to take down the spirit of harvest and get her body back. Soon, that would be realized, but something had to be done first; Nathaniel had to pay! Roxanne put the laptop away and then exited her room through a wall and began to hover instead of walk to make her point. She headed for Sharlene’s cabin where Nathaniel suggested he would be in chat. “Here comes the spooky ghost captain!”, Roxanne exclaimed to herself.

Helen smiled at that, offering to show the strange Russian fellow her place sometime later, admitting she had something to tend to for now. Sh'd be back to reading The Source. There was a reason for it, as she pored over the sections of swords of harvest, and every section related to it. She had one half of her secret weapon, thanks to The Keepers of The Oath. Shadows of Arcana had the other.

Later, while Hector was on his way back to the farm, Nathaniel waited. He had no idea of the chat conversations that ensued as Mohammed was hiding in his room with the laptop. Sharlene had gone missing yet again, and now Lilith was out. Sharlene likely would've been pissy about Lilith not taking Nathaniel along with him, but since Mohammad had given up on trying to badger him into going back to the farm he figured it was alright.

For now he mostly just hoped Hector wouldn't be pissed off at him, and that he'd get back for the "panty raid" he went on with Mica in time to talk down Roxanne...

Roxanne reached the cabin door and had an idea. She put her hood on to conceal her head; due to arcane effects, all that could be seen inside was a void, it looked empty. This, added with the fact that she was floating, made Roxanne hope Nathaniel would be properly scared. The last touch was to deploy the two blades given to her. Roxanne now looked like a proper divine spirit and it’s malevolence permeated around her. She knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

They green light from earlier had returned. It manifested on the roof of Victor's roof and it just stayed there for a while. Soon enough, it disappeared as nothing interesting happened around it. This would be the last appearance it would make as the light; it needed to talk to someone, and that someone needed to talk to it.

Nathaniel sighed a bit at the knock. Sharlene would just walk in, and he suspected Roxanne would rather sneak in through a window, so as he got up to answer the door he guessed it had to be Hector. "Thank fuck Hec, you gotta-AAAAH!" He hadn't even finished his sentence as he opened the door and saw the empty-robed, blade-wielding figure.

In the span of a couple seconds, a few things had happened. One, he was on his ass halfway across the room after backpedaling faster than he'd ever backpedaled before. Two, his pistol was now on the ground at the doorway, dropped in a frantic scramble to draw it. Three, he was staring wide-eyed into the hooded thing still at the door.

Mohammad was happy.  He'd challenged two people to fights and was pretty confident with himself.  Some nerd and some cosplaying idiot.  Nathaniel didn't seem like he wanted to leave, though.  He was surprisingly okay with that, even if it did annoy him mildly.  Then, the knock.  He dumped the laptop onto the sofa next to him and went for the curtain into the main bedroom, when Nathaniel's scream came through in return.  Mohammad's hand froze, reached out towards the doorway.

The rifle leant against the odd corner of his side room hadn't seen much use recently, but Mohammad sure as hell kept that thing cleaned and ready.  A quick look showed that Nathaniel was on the ground, and someone was at the door.  Those two were probably related.  Mohammad fires a single warning shot into the badly-put-together wooden door, and then levels his rifle at the hooded thing in the doorway.  "One fuckin' move and I put more than a warnin' shot in you, cunt."
