Roxanne smiled using Atomos as a host for the last time this session. They both had invaded each other in ways words could not describe and discovered a few things the other might have prefered not to know. She would’ve stayed longer to mess around but Atomos’ reference to her “mission” snapped Roxanne back to reality. The last thing the fox girl would feel from Roxanne was the feeling of dread.
“It’s for the best you don’t understand. There are things out there that threaten us beyond the cataclysm. Live your life to the fullest and don’t worry to much; follow your instincts. You only live once you know?”, Roxanne responded to Atomos, “Enjoy life, do a few stupid mistakes and maybe settle down eventually. For now, I must get ready; the mission will start soon. Take care!” Roxanne gave control back to Atomos, however, Roxanne was nowhere to be found. She didn’t materialize in the room, she wasn’t inside of Atomos either.
There was one ability Roxanne had not used in front of anyone, Kinesis Shift. It worked in the same way as going incorporeal, she would make her body translucent to the point where she was practically invisible; it was the equivalent of the cloaking cbm or catnip’s invisibility cloak. However, like all of Roxanne’s divine abilities, this costed Divine Essence; and this ability was quite taxing. Everything she did, from hovering to her divine flames drained her supply of divine essence. This was the equivalent of life essance for living people, it allowed her to fuel spells and the such but if it was drained completely, Roxanne would achieve a second death, non-existence. Divine essence regenerated over time and Roxanne had plenty at the moment so she used her cloaking ability to travel uninterrupted elsewhere.
Victor had left the barn some time ago. He wasn’t needed there, breakfast was over and everyone else was occupied with other things. Once more his room was his sanctuary; preparations for the mission being done, one last test for his hidden goal.
The aura spell picked up a familiar aura appear inside his room. It did not teleport or was summoned, it simply walked through his wall. “Roxanne? Oh, how may I help you?”, Victor said to break the silence. Roxanne stood there, no longer cloaked. “Just wanted to let you know I am headed to the APC for the mission. There is nothing for me to do anymore. Can you be a dear and let Helen know?”, Roxanne responded, her demeanor and tone was solemn and a bit somber as well despite her actual words.
Victor gave a single nod at her request, “I’ll let her know if I see her. I myself am almost ready.”, Victor responded.
“Thank you Victor, this will be over soon. Soon we will be able to relax. I am looking forward to it.”, Roxanne commented.
Victor’s facial expression changed to guilt. “Roxanne, look, I am sorry for what I said dur-”, Victor started to say.
Roxanne interrupted him mid sentence. She closed her eyes and waved her hand around in a dismissive manner; smile plastered in her face. “Water under the bridge. I did spike your food after all...”, Roxanne said herself, “You have proven many times before that you have my back. Hell, today’s mission is another example. Don’t worry about a thing. Just focus on the mission today, Grand Wizard Ironwood.” After her comments, Roxanne exit Victor’s room via wall and headed for the APC.
