I should clarify that irregardless I'll be active here, just kinda frustrated that all my stuff seems to die. I'm not going to leave, just might start looking at other sites, possibly go back to that star wars RP community that Exo introduced us to.

Do that. I recommend to everyone that if you just can't handle RPing here or how RPs die all the time, literally go anywhere else and you'll find something. I stay regardless because I like y'all and so that's why I RP here and I've come to accept that this is all written fiction with friends and it doesn't mean all that much if it lives or dies. In general, stop complaining about it and go somewhere else, honestly.

And leave it to Furaotic to make me feel like an as(s), bravo.
and honestly he's correct so I shouldn't complain actually because I like you guys, and irregardless of if something works or not all I'm after is a good time, so...bleh words escape me but I'm sorry for complaining.

Sorry if I came off that way. I will vocalize that better next time so it doesn't feel like that because I'm just trying to just state it how it really is. It was a comment to everyone and not just you.

I'm glad you enjoy being here with us because I enjoy being here with you.

No, you were completely fine I just...kinda hard to explain but it made me look at my complaining in a different way and made me feel like an as(s for complaining, it wasn't anything you said, rather it was what you said causing me to reflect on what I said in a different light.

I still think its bullshit that we kinda have to accept no one posting as the norm. I mean a few weeks ago we were talking about how stories never get off the ground due to lack of people giving input, so we fixed that by having people actively read the board.

So why can't we have active RPers or GMs. I know we all lead busy lives, but as Furaotic put it:

I don't believe in excuses like "I'm too busy..." or "It's just really crazy right now..." Because I guarantee those are the same people watching AJ's stream or just sitting around hitting refresh until an update on an RP comes out or something new happens. Everything that I have glanced at is relatively short and anyone can read it in a short time with the excuse of PULP which is 70 pages long. I suppose it's a matter of just doing it, and I can't really say much because I could be doing that too. These examples are coming from what I personally do, and I'm sure i'm not the only one so I hope no one feels personally attacked by what I'm saying here.

It's funny you'd take that quote when I actually answer your question in that same post:

As for the Rec Room,

About an average 20 people log on a day. I'm going to make that rough estimate and anyone of you can clock me on it if you care so much. We have about... eight people dedicated to RP which is funny considering a large movement of us came from the Rec Room with other people tagging along. (Not shaming that or anything, just saying that's a huge ratio.) And maybe only three of those eight even come on in a day, and if they do come on, they might not even post.

That's eight people who may or may not give a **** about the RPs that happen here, and three people who have the chance to. I do not think it's a matter about enough people giving a ****, it's just not enough people. I'm going to get real and say we do not have enough people to create a very strong RP community. Especially since most of us already know each other and are, frankly, kind of sick of each other in that aspect. I'm sure some of you are sick of me and I don't awfully care that much about what anyone thinks of me, it's the fact that our small group of eight people dedicated are getting tired of RPing with the same people because we all flatline in a certain way. We cannot keep up with just that. We're all flaky, we're all busy, and it's just not enough people. That's just it. It's not enough people and that why **** won't be taking off like it has in the past. Plain and simple unless anyone has a rebuttal for that, then go on ahead.

Now, for us GM's, me being one, I find that it doesn't really matter how well put together the RP is. You can make it open as ****, closed as ****, or anything and sure you can get the ball rolling with characters and then they can create five pages of straight dialogue, but at the end of the day there's got to be a GM who's going to care just as much as a player. It's an even effort and both have to pull weight. If the GM doesn't get posts from players who care, a GM can't make caring posts. GMs and Players thrive and bounce off one another and we don't have enough of any of those. Like what, four or five of the eight dedicated are GMs themselves. The numbers just don't work and that's the issue. I'd dare say it's not always about dedication from the GM either. You can have a dedicated GM but people who don't want to post/too busy/aren't interested anymore. I've been flaky, I've been busy, and I've dropped things. But if I'm going to use an example, I came back to Sunken Harbors and tried to continue that. It got close. But people left. People got busy. That's the nature of that situation. We are all fickle people.

There's a lot more variables and **** to talk about when it comes to Rec Room, but at the end of the day here's the major issue and if we could solve it, everything would works itself out I guarantee.

We need more people. We don't need the few that we have to care more. Just more people.

Totally respectable opinion and you deserve to vocalize it, but it sucks to suck and complaining about how much it sucks unfortunately blows because nothing gets done. I'd redirect that opinion energy to getting over the situation or making a change because:

Going to be a My-Post-Quote-Wh0re because we've already had this conversation before.

Yup, which is why I've stopped saying I'll update The Highway, because I know if I say that I really won't. I still promised to finish it though. and goddammit I'll see to it that it gets a conclusion.

As for any future RPs from me, I've already said it. But I might turn one idea into a SS13 styled game, possibly (READ AS: YES ITS TERMINAL I MEAN IT'D WORK GREAT ON A HEAVILY MODDED BAY ENGINE) Terminal, I think it'd be great as a BYOND game working off of Baycode or whatever Colonial Marines uses.

The only problem with doing that is one thing... even if I were to assemble a team, get spriters, coders, etc... or just do it all on my own... I still don't have a host server and I ain't got shit. I could go beg on the SS13 subreddit once I get some of it done though.

No problem. Enjoy the new computer!

Flower Power Hour is also the most fun I've had with an RP by far that I've GM'd. The system is simple enough that I can do it and make it fun, and just bendy enough I can make rules and do things with it depending on the situation. It's awesome so far.

since the one that someone mentioned isn't going to get made would anyone be interested in an RP based off of The Dark Summers war? As an RP there's a lot of content I'd leave out, but the main vibe of 'its a war and both sides are doing whatever they deem neccessary to win' would be present.
