Alright, I'll be interested to see where this goes.
When reading the Dark Summers War I kinda thought of an RP about 4 characters working together closely, since from the lore I've read, it seems like comradery would be one of the strongest things on the field. So having the players start off on the initial CGYI gas bombings, with the group barely making it out- or not having that, and just having you guys be fresh faced recruits.
But I have a total of three different scenarios the players could play with.
1- You play as a tank unit, you get to choose a tank (I mean get assigned), name it, and vote on an emblem. It'll take place when the UIJ started taking their lost territory back from the GYI.
2- You play as a CGYI cleanup, resistance finders, demolition, etc.... Going from town to town, clearing out resistance members, and possibly getting caught in huge engagements between UIJ resistance and GYI soldiers.
3- You play as a UIK airborne unit, parachuting into CGYI territory. It'd be more like Band of Brothers for this one, you'd parachute in to what could be described as Normandy, and slowly have a tour of duty lasting deep into CGYI territory. Its not about if you win or lose the war, its about making it back home. ((I really don't want to have clear winners in this RP, the only battles that you'll actually win or lose for the war, is stuff that was described in the war. But even then you're just a small unit, you're going to change a tide of a battle, but it doesn't mean you're winning a war.))
But all of them (except for CGYI) are the same, you'll be in a squad of 5 (Vulnus basically already gets a spot, so read that as 4.) moving through CGYI territory, seeing the pretty European inspired landscape, fighting in open expanses and dodging bullets when you're in the cities, and when you're traveling around, camping, or basically being 'off-duty' you'll be chatting, joking, eating, laughing, and all the other stuff soldiers do during a war to keep their minds occupied.
Unlike The Highway, it'll probably be more grounded in reality then zany over the top madness that I'm known for. There'll still be the humor, but it won't be, "THAT GUY IS NAMED SHREDTESLA AND HE PLAYS A GUITAR THAT SHOOTS ELECTRICITY!" And the sarcastic quips about the violence may or may not be there, I'm going to go with the latter, but who knows, it might depend on your characters mental state.
