I'm kind of bored at the moment and have an excess of free time so I might put something together from some ideas I've got bouncing around. Anyone interested in a trench warfare kind of setting?

hey gamers who still hangs out here
because i kinda wanna do a really dumb thing about futuristic sword and sorcery shenanigans, a la spelljammer but with some more regular sci-fi junk
who's down

i guess like less spelljammer but more space faring adventures in a setting where swordplay is prevalent (thanks to Dune-esque shields) and magic is a thing

Gonna write up some setting info for us to work with but rn I've got work that needs done so it'll just be a bit.

  • A significant but undefined amount of time has passed since a new type of energy shield has become standard in the universe, this particular shield is able to destroy bullets, lasers, and plasma directed at the user. Thanks to this new technology, there has been a resurgence in hand to hand combat techniques including all sorts of primitive weaponry. Guns are few and far between, and there's rumors of weapons designed to pierce these barriers. Guns are considered nothing more than accessories to most people, though monster hunters can sometimes find uses for them.
  • Magic has always been a thing, as far as most people are concerned. Magic is granted to people through pacts with gigantic beings that travel between the stars. People have a myriad of names for them. Gods, Dragons, World-Eaters, simply Star Beasts and more. Their appearances vary heavily, but their methods do not. Every magic user sacrifices something to these beasts for their power. Magic does not function in the void of space, but most ships used to travel the stars are capable of generating an artificial atmosphere that also supports magic use on board. Due to the nature of the beasts, each magic user has a specific "theme" of magic they can use. This seems to be connected to the specific beast they make a pact with, but again not much is known about them. According to sentient races, the Star Beasts are the oldest creatures in the universe.
  • The universe is far older than the people in it, and filled with the ruins of ancient races that carry great treasures. Treasure hunting is a dangerous and often looked down upon profession, but if you're successful it can be profitable. Most of the artifacts left by ancient races are barely understood but collectors are always glad to buy them. Some also fancy exotic species, the more dangerous the better. Monster hunting is common too, as it helps blaze the way for colonists.
  • Dueling is a common method to settle arguments, though usually not to the death except in the most dire of circumstances.

I'm unsure if I want humans in the setting or everybody to make up ayyliens. Feedback and suggestions are very very much welcome, it's very WIP and I wanna get something solid before I do anything.

Hey everyone, I'm stepping away from UMEU for a bit(well I'm still running Legion but I'm going to be doing other stuff alongside that) and was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing an RP over on Roll20 or similar website that's free.

Currently I'm thinking of running an RP set in a ww1 esque RP through that but I'm open to suggestions, just currently looking to see if people are open to using things like Roll20.

And a link for those that don't know about the website: https://roll20.net/

I use Roll20, but I can't be positive if I'll be available much.

Sounds interesting but I'd have to figure out some good car combat mechanics.  Though I'm not sure if this was directed towards my question...and you didn't really answer it.

Well my general philosophy towards things like Roll20 are a maximum of one session a week at an agreeable time for all involved(usually weekends), and session lengths at least about forty minutes though an hour or more is preferable. I'm also willing to work around people's schedules so long as they don't mind doing the same.

Was considering doing a thing, wondering if it sounds cool to the rest of ya's

So I want to run something, but I want to wait for people to at a point where they can post before I continue Legion, and none of my ideas so far have received interest. So: Anyone got a setting they'd like to try an RP in?
