The Highway Discussion
RedVulnus:
Yo, so making this so we have a place specifically to discuss all things The Highway. Just a place to generally talk about the subject and to ask questions and etc.
So...I got nothing for now just thought a place to discuss this in general and specific would be a nice idea, keep any questions and such to a consolidated thread.

So to actually get this thing started with some discussion, what do people think of the new lore?
Like do you enjoy how insane it is? Or do you like the fact that I managed to cram more cultures into the west to make it more appealing to get too. Or do you enjoy the fact that the game has more of a sense of humor and optimism too it then a lot of post-apocalyptic things nowadays.
I'm hoping to flesh more of the world out in stories, and I've been looking at gamemaker to start a simple prototype of a roguelike version of the game.
RedVulnus:
I like the fact that we can and will run into completely insane stuff, and I'm very happy you didn't go the whole 'dark depressing post apocalypse' route, and I like the lore so far. I especially love the knights insane enough to put TNT on the end of their lances.

Oh I'd say it's still a 'dark depressing post apocalypse' if you start to think about how absolutely fucked the world is in it's condition. But I think it's all in how it's delivered. I'm wanting the apocalypse to be green, painted in neon lights revived by a new generation of humanity that just learns to roll with the punches and even swing a few back at life's way. Even the bandits are just doing what they think is necessary to survive. You'll meet your insane evil people that love to torture, maim, and kill.
But you'll also have people that are equivalent to a barbarian, they kill and loot because that's what they know, that's all they really know, some reform their ways, others just treat it like a day job. They go off to raid and pillage, and return home to their families with their scored loot.
Forrest:
He's here.
Brace yourselves.
