I want a .45 acp revolver pretty bad. Mostly because revolvers are awesome and .45 acp is not too horribly expensive from what I hear. Might be wrong. Which pistol caliber was it that was horribly and disproportionately expensive?

10mm is disproportionately expensive from what I hear, probably mostly due to it being somewhat uncommon and that actual full power 10mm rounds are more uncommon and expensive

Yeah, anything 10mm power and up is gonna be pretty pricey. Though 10mm is probably way more expensive than .44 and .357 Magnum.

.45 is pretty cheap. Probably not as cheap as 9mm or .22, but it's a helluva lot more powerful.

IIRC 10mm is somewhat similar in performance to .45 ACP isn't it? Just unjustifiably more expensive.

10mm is a little more powerful.

It can be used for medium game hunting, unlike .45, which is why there's a market for custom "hunter" 1911s chambered in 10mm.
