anyone got any recommendations on good ad blockers? I ask because the one I use is now going to allow certain ads to run which is counterintuitive to the reason I got the damn thing.

Also since there are some who dislike the use of ad blockers and we recently got a couple of new members, the reason I use one is because I had an ad redirect me to a virus site. An exceedingly obvious one at that.

Strange, I've had no issues with Adblock Plus. The issue is you pretty much have to be efficient and vigilant about adding stuff to your blocklist.

I got into using adblocking in general due to the same issue, way back in ye olde days I encounter a malicious redirect in an ad on DA. That the same event prompted me to switch from AVG Free should tell you plenty enough about how much fun I had. :V
