In other news, my bosses wife is unpleasant to say the least, a raging bitch to say the worst (in polite words.) Among many other issues, such as not knowing how a gift card works and being a bitch to the customers, she is also in charge of scheduling and ordering. She orders all the shit we don't need, and not the stuff that sells well. More importantly, she has slashed the hours of myself and two other employees, and given them all to the stores indian workers. The newest of these was given the job, one day of training, and then was set loose with the customers much to the irritation of the customers. The biggest deal with all this though is, the store is now badly overstaffed. I and another of the workers are worried that the bosses wife is trying to have us replaced.
No one ever buys the "home run bubblegum baseball bats." Why do we stock them? Even children don't want them. There's a bunch of shit that we shouldn't be stocking and yet we do, even if it doesn't sell. Beerchilladas, bubblegum bats, landjaeger, "butterkernel" corn, canned goods in general, pretzels, and incense. We don't sell that shit, why stock it? Hell, we have perfume on one of our shelves. The bottles are so old that the plastic has actually started to crumble. You know that kind of plastic that gets some sun on it and then it ages and cracks, and then turns to powdered shit at the slightest touch?
"Tigers milk" energy bars. It's actually just corn syrup. Seriously, it markets itself as a serious energy bar full of nutrients, but it's just corn syrup. With no milk in it, tigers or otherwise.
I have begun to spite my employers wife after she screeched at me for not putting numbers on a list or doing chores. Let's go back a bit. One of the things that is recommended I do to make my job easier is to make a list of all the cigarettes and tobacco products I need. Running low on marlboro red box? Put it on the list. I had started my list on what started as a slow day, but quickly picked up before I could finish the list or do any of the other small chores that help out around the place (because the janitor can't do that shit while I'm dealing with customers right?) The employers wife comes down and asks if I have a list, I respond over my shoulder by saying I do but it isn't finished. To which she responds by screaming at me that I don't do anything, why isn't your list finished, where are the numbers (what numbers?). All of this in front of customers of course. Throughout the day, when I wasn't compiling the list, I had been dusting and cleaning the glass in the store. One of her shouted complaints was that I don't do these things. I list every single brand we have that is down by even a little bit on my list. I go to pains to list cigarettes that do not sell well or at all and have been left in low stock because of that fact. The numbers I put down are arbitrary as I know she won't bring anything I actually need anyway. When I do the other chores, I go about it in the most "doing nothing but still doing something" way possible. I fiddle-dee-fuck about with it, dusting individual bags of chips and candy bars. I DUST INSIDE THE FUCKING ICE CREAM COOLER. In essence, I waste a shitton of time doing nothing, but you can't really say I'm doing nothing because I am clearly doing what I was shouted at to do. If you're going to be an ungodly cunt in front of customers, than I can be an ungodly cunt while doing exactly what you said to do.
Same day I got shouted at for being lazy? I STOPPED THE STORE FROM BEING ROBBED! Ungrateful fucking hag.
Oh, and sorry I didn't jump into that RP on the cata forums, I've been distracted by my shockingly butchered schedule and my shiny new computer machine.
