Title: Fire and Gallows [IC]
Post by: RedVulnus on March 31, 2015, 11:14:15 am: The cart that held our adventurers trundled along at a decent pace. It would only be a short time until they reached their destination.
The rolling hills and plains were visible for miles, and a forest could be spotted a distance away, and they could see men at work in the fields, preparing for the harvest. As you passed a group they merely stood and watched you roll by, one of them shaking his head.
Not long until you reached the ruins.

Vincent sighed as he looked around. Not much to see he thought to himself, and began fiddling with one of his arrows.

The cart would probably rock just slightly as he moved. As birds chirped he would stare upwards at the sky and look around. For some reason he appears to be extremely energetic/nervous. Finally he would take a seat next to Vincent, staring at him through the mask.

And then in a hushed snarl with a very slight squeak to his voice he would speak.

"Ear gone, much bad...was tasty?

He shakes his head rapidly, popping himself gently

"Is sorry, no use to Father Sky much."

With that he would scurry over to the other side of the cart and stare out at some farmers.

Musk would leap upwards, climbing onto Cobalt's shoulder for a moment before pouncing downwards to Vincent's lap and then rolling off of that he would take a new seat on the wagon.

"Me is bestest scurrier ever!"

Musk sneezes from all his jumping about.

His bones creaked as he shifted in his seat, waiting for the wagon to take them to the ruins. Hopefully he would recognize something and find out what happened to the people he once served.

"Did you swallow a year's supply of sugar cubes? I swear the only thing that could make someone as jumpy as you would also cause a heart attack" Ragnan lets out a small chuckle as he says this, the innate snarl in his voice making it sound bloody horrifying.

*Well, his compound eyes let him see everywhere except the very back of his head, so it is entirely likely his head isn't facing anywhere near the direction of Musk, but whatever.

He would snarl slightly as he watched, having identified something...wrong.

"Is...wrong."

He nods to himself, obviously proud of his being such an apex predator.

We are after a rather large green orb of unknown material, though you will undoubtadly know what we are after. It glows an odd greenish color as well, and being around it, according to our records, makes one feel very on edge or nervous. The only reason we know its description or it's effect is due to some historical records acquired by my employers. If you happen to find any similar objects to it we will pay an aditional fee to be discussed at time of your re-emergence from the ruins. As for whatever else you may find it is yours to keep with the caviate that anything that may pertain to my employers is ours, and that you will be compensated for any such artifacts at seventy-five gold for each of you. I'm sure you are more then eager to enter the ruins and get this job done so I won't keep you." The man said, stopping next to a hole in the ground with a ladder sticking out of it.
Vincent looked over. "If you require medicine I do have some. Though I sincerely doubt my medicine would help an undead." He said, watching the two.

Musk would move back to the hole, a reptillian tail scurrying inside his exposed mouth, he would promptly gulp it down.

"Alright, try and keep some light alright. I don't want us to get lost and unable to see when something tries to kill us."

Sadly, this is true. My vision is actually poorer than it was in life, so just tie the torches to me. I can't get burned anyway.

"Sound and smell, most likely. Touch would be less useful for shooting things, but not entirely. You could use taste, if your into that sort of thing."

Noticing how the rest of the band wasn't moving, Lornaeius decides to be the first to go further in. His armor shook and his bone creaked as he moved past his allies as he kept his ancient halberd close in bone-hands. The walls were made of a white stone, like diorite, and were smooth, bearing no engravings. A few yards forward, the skeleton's right foot-bone steps on a tile which triggers a trap! A large spear shoots from the right hand wall and impales him in the chest, tearing through a rusty patch in his armor.

The skeleton clacks his teeth in frustration as he grabs the spear and shatters it with his undead strength.

((Yo, please for the love of god describe the severity of wounds. especially since I got booted to the healer role.))

"Oooh, Yummy!"

Musk would take off down the hallway on all fours as he usually does, several spear traps would trigger but since he'd be almost on the ground they would all fly over his head, he would come back a moment later with another lizard in his grimy paws.

"Is okay! Me caught!"

The spear had penetrated a rusty part in his iron armor but had passed through his spooky skeleton. After crushing the spear with his bony grasp, he would turn to the heal and rasp, "I'm fine."

He sticks it in his pack, he walks around until he finds a door, he opens the door and walks inside. He takes a piece of rubble and tosses it down the hall which a few dart and spear traps trigger. He walks down the, now safe, hall. He accidentally triggers an untriggered dart trap, it sticks into his leg but do to not having any blood, he kinda just pulls it out. He opens on of the doors in the hall, he sees a what seems to be a dining room, there's a table with some ancient plates and rotten food, there's some more chairs also. He grabs the plates after cleaning them off, he puts them into his pack. He heads back to the main room, he walks up to Vincent "Hey... Fleshy, Hows thisss..." He hisses to Vincent while showing him the ancient plates.

Post by: Exodus on April 02, 2015, 01:31:38 pm: Musk scurried into a slight hole he saw in one of the nearby walls, he made several grunting noises and finally a noise somewhere along the line of 'Aha'
A shriek of terror would sound from the hole.
"EEEEP, Big snake bad, big snake big big big snaaaake!"

Musk would bolt out of the hole at the speed of light, dropping a very small blue gemstone and immediately leaping up onto his undead friend's shoulder, holding onto him and shaking in terror.

i step up to the scene, and look at the spear trap.

Looks like a Parsunyil trap. I saw these quite a bit in my day, these are some very old ruins.

He begins cutting strips of it and he dulls the wood. Finally he ties a fang to the end with the skin and dips it in venom.

Musk comes back gnawing on a long dirty bone with his rodent teeth. Upon closer examination it is a humanoid femur.

From the darkened room they all hear several thuds, and those who could see into the dark spot several casket lids fall to the ground from caskets that had been stood up along the wall. Seven skeletons reformed, with weapons floating to their hands, and moved to attack.

Vincent drew his bow and fired a shot that stuck into the shield that one of the skeletons was carrying. "Shit, my arrows'll do jack shit on these guys."

He leaps up its arm and onto its shoulder before snapping his wicked rodent teeth into its neck and grinding the bones to dust. He would then climb in the hole where the head was and burst out the sternum, spraying shattered bone bits around

Ragnan charges towards the skeleton nearest to him.
Ragnan's punches miss most of the time. He is able to rip off the skeleton's shield arm with a powerful yank, but this leaves him vulnerable to the skeleton's attack. The spooky scary skeleton pierces Ragnan's lower left leg, causing him to fall to one knee. Ragnan, however, uses this to his advantage, tackling the skeleton into the wall. The skeleton can only leave a thin gash in Ragnan's back before it breaks into multiple pieces.

Grabbing the dagger the skeleton dropped, Ragnan throws it towards an unsuspecting skeleton. The small dagger gets lodged the skeleton's right shoulder and arm, making it harder for the skeleton to use it's weapon.

The cut in Ragnan's calf seem to make him limp slightly, but it isn't as serious or encumbering as it could've been. The cut in his back has minorly painful, but could likely be ignored.
