Title: Tenkil
Post by: Perigrin on April 05, 2015, 05:12:13 pm
You guys start in *Rolls* medium sized city of Retarshk.

Retarshk is a city, well known for its exports of leather products. It lies in the human kingdom of Kuliy, and supplies boots and other items to the kingdoms military. Odium are fairly well treated here as long as they behave, as this is a kingdom in which the cult of Solaire has very little power. it is a sprawling city, with short building spread out over a large radius. your party finds itself at a tavern on the very edges of town, called The Ill Omen. you step inside, and immediately are greeted by a warm and cheery atmosphere, with bright lighting, a warm fire, And a burly Odium tending the bar. the patrons are your usual tavern trash. farmer come into town to blow their money away, merchants down on their luck. in one corner sleeps a very old looking man. the Odium at the counter looks up as you enter, and says "Hello, and welcome to the Ill Omen. Its just a name, dont worry, we havent had anyone die in here in months. What can i getcha?"

Leatherwing would order some sort of ale, laying down a gold piece.  He would steps past the table of merchants,  his talons clacking against the ground as he emits a very light growl.  He would take a seat at a table in a dark corner, waiting for his ale to come by.

Minus his glowing red eyes, Leatherwings body would be shroided in the darkness.

(just so you know, a GP is WAY over an average ale. an average ale is 3 copper. you just got some friggin awesome level gourmet shit.)

Elena walks into the ill omen quickly scans the room and says under her breath "I don't like this place one bit".
Being broke she ignores all other distractions and proceeds to try and find some work.

Pax walked in, putting down three copper on the bar. "Ale please." Pax said, taking a seat by the bar.
He looked around, happy to finally be in a place he wasn't going to be randomly attacked in just because he was an Odium. He reached down and patted his dog on the head, smiling.

Leatherwing scraped his talons against the floor before Letting out a short high pitched shriek. A large black hound would stroll into the bar, its right eye is reddish and a scar lies on its nose. It growls quietly and takes off towards Leatherwing, sitting near him. He softly runs his talon through its fur.

"Good Mutt."

Duncan strode into the bar, his legs tired from trekking through the forest to this city. Here in the bar, he would take a seat at the bar and say, "Rye Beer, please." He would then place a few copper coins on the table waited patiently.

Vessul takes a seat at the at the bar with his dog sitting on the floor beside him, and passes 5sp to the bartender. "Mead, please."

"No ones died here in months, huh? So someone did die here at some point? Local drunkard had a bit too much, I'm guessing?"

Leatherwing took a sip of his ale, clanking his talons over to Vessul.
His dog woukd stay at the table, guarding it.

With a raspy shrieky voice he would speak.

"Probably someone who asked too many questions."

"Well, aren't you just happiness incarnate!" Vessul would say, with a hint of sarcasm.

LW would glare at the insect with his glowing red eyes before hissing quietly between his fangs.
The dog at the table would begin to growl slightly.

LW would scrape his talons along the floor before retaking his seat.

Pax sighed, looking at the two. "Let's not fight. I've seen far too much of that recently."

UPDATE

The bartender looks at the large amount of DOSH lining the counter. To batboy, he says "Rutyo's beard, what are you trying to buy? That'll get you a few of my best drink, coming up now." to the rest, he turns and simply says "My Niece will be out shortly with yer drinks." "Also, Bat, your paying for any damage those claws do to the flooring, ya hear?"

the dog barks

Elena: you survey the room, and see for work possibilities:

one rich looking man crying into a glass of wine
The Bartender
the weird old guy.
everyone else is drunk, unconscious, or both.

Vessul: the bartender says "Well, this is a tavern. Every once in a while you get a sick man, or an old bastard who wants to die drinking. Damm Svalites. Rarely live long enough to pay. And, you know, sometimes heads get busted in fights, but those don't happen as much as you would believe."

Pax looked around, at the poor farmers and the others, attempting to discern if any of them were ill.  he also pulled his hood back, his eyes glowing a dull blue color. "What kind of food do you have here, if any?"

LW would notice the intensely large amount of unconscious people. He gulps down his drink, flips five Dosh to the barkeep and starts dragging unconscious people out to his wagon.

He then begins to indoctrinate them with words of servitude, using their sleepiness to imprint the words in their subconscious. He then takes them back to the bar.

Post by: RedVulnus on April 05, 2015, 11:07:48 pm
Pax stood and stopped LW. "Leave the unconscious be. Besides, I don't think I'll like what you'd do to them." He said, watching the man.

(if a convo is happening, I'll try my best to do mini updates for the conversation)
"Stew, bread, eggs, might have my wife fry something up I'd you like."
Title: Re: Tenkil

LW sighs and just quietly begins his indoctrination there, whispering into their ears.

"Leave me be."

((check to see if my character hears him))
Pax sighed and looked at the bartender "How much for some stew and a bit of bread?" Pax asked the bartender.

*rolls*

You don't hear him. Barely. You know he is saying something, but not the specifics.

"ten copper for the stew, five fer the bread. Fresh baked by my son this morning too."
Title: Re: Tenkil
Post by: RedVulnus on April 05, 2015, 11:24:37 pm
Pax put down the copper, and said "I'll have some stew and bread as well then." then he looked back to the bartender and said "So, is there any work to be had in this town?"

(like I said, mini updates, cause that's the closest to tabletop we can get here. I'll do a major update once everyone has posted at least once.)

"Well, I heard tell that some Scholars needed some meat monkeys to find them an artifact in the wild lands. Very hush hush, only heard about it cause Scholars can't hold there liquor."
Title: Re: Tenkil
Post by: Exodus on April 05, 2015, 11:51:29 pm
LW finishes up his indoctrination, listening in on the talk between the two orhers.

"Looking for artifacts are they. Ought to raid a ruin."

Vessul gulps down his mead, and looks for the poorest/desperate drunkards/farmers/whatever-the-fuck he can find, and offers them to join him on a quest of immediate death righteousness and glory. This suggestion was not at all inspired by Mount and Blade: Warband.

Elena approaches the crying rich man and introduces herself.
"Elena DuSair, mercenary, you look like you could use the services of one!"

Woo

Ok, first, you cult bastards.
This is a bar full of poor farmers unwilling to leave their families and farms to join your crusade.

second, Elena

"well, you see, im the head of a local Mercenary guild, but no one is willing to take a job request we just got. a few bandits have been taking down people in the wilds, but the local mercs refuse to go on the mission, something about holy ground or curses. I would provide Weaponry, i just need any bastards willing to do it."

the dog barks

Pax: your ale is average tasting for ale.
Title: Re: Tenkil
Post by: RedVulnus on April 07, 2015, 10:04:03 pm
Pax handed the woman who gave him his ale two silver pieces for her trouble and slowly drank his ale. "I find that men who can't hold their liquor should not visit an establishment that serves it." He said, taking a drink and looking around.
((just going to note the bartender said his niece was going to come out to serve the drinks)
Title: Re: Tenkil

LW frowns as his indoctrination apparently didn't work. He called out as he was leaving the establishment.

"Any who wish better for their families are invited to join me in creating a new town."

(I know about the niece, I'm just a forgetful fucker, so its implied)

With his batlike hearing, LW hears this (rolled a listen check for you leaving the bar)

"So you see lass, I'm in need of mercs. I will pay well, and provide weaponry for the rabble who sign up. Locals will probably like ye too, I'll put in a good word for ye." the old man said, soundinga bit desperate.
Title: Re: Tenkil

LW spins around before walking up to the merc captain fellow.

"You need things killed for money? Im in."

This bar sucks, not even one person wants to join me to their immediate doom!

Leave the bar and recruit elsewhere.

Pax finishes his ale and walks after Vessul. "I heard you speak of a better life, and righteousness and glory. Perhaps you could use a healer?"
"I don't think I said anything about a better life, but yes, a healer could be useful. Come, follow me, I need to find people who are idioti- I mean brave enough to join me." Vessul answers, as he exits the bar in search of recruits.

"I'll do it, a few bandits shouldn't be much trouble" then as LW approaches  "What the fuck are you? I was already taking this job, unless this man is willing to pay both of us, I'd suggest you leave."
Title: Re: Tenkil
Post by: Perigrin on April 09, 2015, 11:24:29 pm
The bartender mutters "so many people tonight."

the dog barks

the old man says "Yes, of course I will pay both of you! More warm bodies are never a bad thing. Pop by the Red building about 60 meters to the east on the morrow, and we will see how we can cooperate." the man returns too his ale

The two Revolutionaries (yes that's your team name now) leave the bar. You are on a dark street. It is late. The weather is calm. You can see
A general store
A large Red building
A castle in the distance
The bar you just left
and a ton of houses and slum buildings.
you hear the sounds of a city at night. A murmur of conversation, squeeking wagon wheels, a far off scream. Usual city stuff.

LW: the bartenders pretty odium neice brings you three mugs of your fine Alcohol.

LW casually flirts a bit while he waits. Finally he asks the bartender if he has any rooms here to sleep in. Possibly invite the niece if she responded well to flirting.

(ok, im assuming that Vulnus is following Rhodri into the building, as he didnt post here.)

La Resistance:
You enter the building, when a bright white flash assaults your retinas, and you pass out. you wake up in a cell, with a plant in a rather nice cloak chained to you two. (the plant is wilson)

La Mercenaries: you guys go to sleep, and wake up the next morning refreshed and ready to go do the contract. also, exodus
