Title: Nerf Thread
Post by: Perigrin on April 24, 2015, 04:47:49 pm
I'm a big fan of nerf guns, so this is a thread to talk about them. I'm thinking of getting myself an Alpha Trooper (Modern version). Heard its pretty good and it is DAMN sexy looking.

Every year my school does this thing called Dart Wars. Basically, we all pay money to sign up and make teams. Teams face off and whoever has more kills at the end of the week wins. The only places off limits are school and the inside of your house. People will wake up at 5 in the morning and ambush the other guys as they leave their houses to go to school. It's paranoia-inducing and awesome.

I can already imagine myself climbing into a tree with my homemade nerf pistol.

I got a Nerf double barrel shotgun for my 18th birthday and everyone instantly regretted me having a nerf gun, I've used it for nothing but annoying people.

The Barrel Break? thats a really cool gun. its range kinda sucks, but for indoors its a really nice gun.

It's essentially a sawed-off shotgun, you couldn't really expect any better.

Anyway, in a similar fashion to what Flame's school does, my boy scout troop does a Nerf lock-in every year at my old private school (on account that one of my troop's committee members actually works at said school), but it saddens me that the place is so small that the gymnasium is the only place to have large team battles. Now if my high school would be on board with the idea...

As for what I actually have, I did purchase the Zombie Strike Slingfire lever-action gun a few months back, for the sole purpose of learning how to spin-c0ck it Terminator-style. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a disappointment.

yeah. its a cool gun, just not as good as, say, a Retaliator or Alpha Trooper (re-release of course.). ive also taken to modding guns, removing air restrictors is pretty easy and helps quite a bit with power.

Here was my team for Dart Wars:

Heavy: a modified HMG and a pair of revolvers (he once killed six people in a shootout with the HMG)
Soldier: an LMG and a modified triple-shot pistol (seriously that pistol hurt)
Spy (me): a revolver, a triple-shot pistol, and a modified triple-shot pistol (I once fended off three people with nothing but that pistol)
Sniper: a double-barreled blowgun (that thing is accurate as shit but takes forever to reload)
Scout: two triple-shot pistols and a "bat" (really just a Pringles can taped to giant Nerf rocket that the people said was legal)

This year our name was Team Renegade but next year it's going to be Team Fortress.

To be fair we thought of that near the end. We're really hoping we get to be Team Fortress and not Team Team Fortress. Hopefully people won't fuck up.

By HMG do you mean a Vulcan or a Stampede? im assuming the LMG was a Rapid strike or a Stampede, too many revolvers to count, the triple shot sounds like a Triad, never heard of a blowgun nerf gun, and they actually make official nerf combat baseball bats now, you can buy one for about 20 bucks at target.

Tiple shot was a triad, HMG was a Vulcan (that we modded to fire 100 rounds per minute), LMG is a Stampede I believe but I forget what the gun was called exactly (it's clip-fed and has a wheel that spins with a motor), revolver was a Strongarm. Heavy roped his Strongarms together so he could cock them by pulling them apart. I just tied a rope on mine so I could carry it under a heavy coat concealed. Dart Wars starts in January.

There's also a rule where you can be invincible if you strip to your underwear. You can sacrifice comfort (this is in winter, remember) and dignity for invincibility if you really had to.

The two full auto clip guns that could be called an LMG are the rapid strike and stampede, and only the rapid strike has a wheel.

Just went out and bought myself a Stryfe, its a little gun with semi auto capabilities, pretty long range but its accuracy leaves much to be desired. it shoots 70 feet flat but over relies on rapid fire to hit goddam anything. a stock helps a bit with aiming, i will post pics in a few seconds here. i also got two 18 round clips, 4 6 rounds that i already had, a stock i had, and a fakton of darts.

I used to have a pair of those clip fed lever action nerf guns, and a pair of the break action shotgun nerf guns to go with them. Gave em away to a friend of mine though. the only nerf gun I still have is one of those revolving barrel pepperbox ones.

Hmm, back to nerf, the mega centurion was really quite disappointing. Especially with the barrel on.
