Scintillack
Mass: 5 kg/liter
Scitilack is a mysterious material produced by The New East Universal Trade Company.
It is a tough and shiny material . The light that comes off of this material is about 5 times brighter than the average phosphorescent light bulb which is why the uses it to make efficient lights, and for trade with other civilizations.
Scintillack after study by other groups appears to be biological although not anything like other life forms previously seen it gathers ambient universal energy into each of its “cells” which then produce powerful biological light using that energy.
It is made with mysterious technology that no other person has the knowledge of apart from the golems.
Nevercold Brass
Mass: 10 kg/liter
Nevercold brass is a mysterious material produced by the The New East Universal Trade Company.
It is extremely hard and warm to the touch. It can produce heat even while in the vacuum of space which is why the man uses it to make ship hulls, and for trade with other civilizations. It also has strange properties related to the correspondence it is about 10 times better than copper at transmitting electricity.
Nevercold Brass is composed of millions of tiny nanobots. These nanobots collect ambient radiation and universal energy to produce electricity each of the nanobots vibrates very quickly producing heat.
It is made with mysterious technology that no other person has the knowledge of apart from the golems.
Prisoner's Honey
Mass: 5 kg/gallon
Prisoner's honey is a mysterious substance produced by The New East Universal Trade Company. It can be very addictive. It’s an opiate which makes people have vivid dreams known as ‘honey dreams’, it is used to trade with other civilizations.
It produces these effects by having nanobots enter the bloodstream and take partial control of the brain and nerves temporarily transporting someone into what feels like real life but within a dream.
It is made with mysterious technology that no other person has the knowledge of apart from the golems.
The Correspondence
This language was “discovered” by a single man. It utilizes “nanotechnology” to create otherwise unobtainable effects like FTL travel. Unfortunately it’s very volatile and can blow up or kill most things. It is mostly utilized in high class engines and weaponry but it also has the potential for creating and engineering life.
The rest of the scientists that created these apart from the old one met with unfortunate accidents.

"produced by a single man"
"is often used for trade"
"Used to make ship hulls"
I don't think these three go together. You should make an entire race to know all of these.
-
Yeah, needs work. it has promise, but mabye get together with one of us, spell check, make it a tad more concise, and fix bugs and canon errors. otherwise, looks promising.
This language “discovered” by a single man utilizes “nanotechnology” to create otherwise unobtainable effects like FTL travel unfortunately it is extremely unstable and can blow up or murder most things it is mainly utilized in high class engines and weaponry although it has the potential for creating and engineering life.
ok, this line for one needs a bit of work, like a race that uses this. a race that speaks to their ships to make them fly would be REALLY cool, but all FTL travel doesnt have to be the same way. the Zidian way was actually a side effect of a REALLY big gun, so....
also, the whole Single Man thing needs work. a company named Single Man might work, but just one guy is not realistic for ANY major construction.
-
Its imported shall we say and the company is owned by a single man hes the only one who knows where it is imported from
-
Still not good enough. This is a space RP, and we need to know _Everyhing_ about everything to RP properly. Basically what I am saying, you should come up with some backstory for the materials you make, or they are gonna end up being ignored. Just stating the facts here.
-
OK the materials are imported from fallen london which in this case is an alternate universe its wear the "single man" came from he uses portals and robots to secretly import and process the materials. In the alternate universe the materials are extremely cheap so hes making a killing off of trade. the rest of his company consists of shipping materials around and production. also his i edited the post its touched up heavily. The company is the East universe thingy btw
-
Wow, Tesla, just relax. Nothing good ever comes from rushing stuff, I know this first hand. Just calm down, take a minute, and just... slowly think what you are doing. "What kind of portals are they?" for example. I spent about 10 mins just thinking what race I was going to implement when I implemented the Truffles, and used 1-2 hours of time to think of a good backstory and stuff.
-
ive been thinking of my chars backstory for years also the portals are mirrors they reflect another world (some of those un-obtainable correspondence affects) and ive been speculating about this stuff for a long time
-
Sorry to be 'that' guy, but: No alternate universes(or dimensions, same thing really). From a creative stand point it's cool, from the GM standpoint I can see this being used for all kinds of stuff that would cause way too much head ache to control.
I really like the idea, and I think it would be really cool, but I'm trying to look at 'how would other people use the alternate dimension/universe angle' and I can see some ways people would use it to make some things that would be a head ache to deal with, and us really unable to just say no because we kind of have to be fair.

Yeah, alternate dimensions cause a WORLD of pain for open RPs.
-
Tesla, I am sorry that you kind of got shot down there, I was fearing this would happen. Now, there is ways of implementing metals without needing to create an alternate universe.
-
Um i would like to have an alternate universe due to the nature of the items just make it so my character is the only one who has discovered an -EFFECTIVE- way of travelling between then i can make like an airport for different dimensions and control what goes in and what comes out meaning people cant do headache things without my permission if you told me what could cause problems i can make airport rules and kill anyone who breaks them is that ok? You could kinda do a he got there first sorry thing just make it so i have a patent on dimensional travel thats fair and works
-
here's the thing, that takes control away from the GMs. I also still gotta say no, because then that's unfair to other people since it puts unfair restrictions on them.
Essentially if we let one person have alternate universe character and stuff then we have to let other people. It's about being fair, which making an 'airport' is not. I'm sorry but seriously alternate universe stuff is not going to fly.
-
ok i understand the alternate universe thing dose not work do you have an alternative i would just suggest making kinda a patent thing where if someone comes up with an idea its THERE idea
-
ok i understand the alternate universe thing dose not work do you have an alternative i would just suggest making kinda a patent thing where if someone comes up with an idea its THERE idea
You can't just claim everything you come up with as your own. Sure, you may have a patent but in space if a megacorp steals your idea you are fucked if you try to fight back, for example.
-
Ok well i have a single other idea fallen london could be so far away that only sam can travel there due to the correspondence combined with him being the only one who knows the location would that work?
-
Also im building my own mega corp if this gets through The New East Universal Trade Company everyone seems to forget also that i can pay them off with rare and powerful materials or blow up there lawyers head xD Theres also the fact that i could just not tell anyone IC the alternate universe thing isn't known by anyone so you cant steal an unknown tech
-
I'm fairly certain I said no alternate universe stuff.
Also, everyone so far has been in traveling distance of eachother and I don't think having one that is not yet can reach everyone else would be unfair. Also where did you say you could blow peoples heads up? Like seriously instanteously killing people is a no either way.
-
The blowing peoples heads up was a joke ok can we just pull a no one knows how its made and be done with it
-
So theres actually only one line about interdimensional stuff which i have changed to the shroom steel approach of no one having knowledge of its production
-
Our policy is that until it is good enough that two GMs say it is good to go, it is non canon. So this doesn't count and cannot be used until approved.
-
The metals you mentioned earlier appear to be borderline magical without some hard science behind them. Judging by what most other people have created, it would be plausible for a highly advanced civilization to have created the materials you mentioned, but even as genius of a man your character may be, it's just not very feasible.
//Hibou whips out a heavy, red stamp and with a whump he gives the topic a Hibou Co. Stamp of Disapproval
To improve on this, I would really love it if you wrote up some background science explaining the unusual properties of the metals, and even some information about how they are made/what makes the production process so special.
-
They pretty much work because of atom sized robots that were discovered and can be used to make powerful affects i think i will build on these ideas at some point
-
That is not an explanation of how they do what they do. There needs to be a logical reason for these metals to do what they do and atom sized robots is not really an explanation I'm afraid. It provides no reason as to why these things occur in the metal other then a reason that could be used to do anything.
-
what i can think of right now for scintillack is that the nanites inside it are powerful light bulbs and the outer layer of scintillack is a powerful focus
and for never cold brass is that it picks up solar radiation by have atoms that a placed in such a way that radiation is trapped inside and bounces the particles around producing heat
would these work?
-
BTW tell me if i should give up since this seems hopeless :'(
-
Definitely not. This has potential.
-
Definitely has potential, keep going, you could make something great out of this, it just takes a lot of time and you end up having to give up or change a lot of your original ideas, but eventually you realise you've come up with a brilliant idea. Don't forget you're fairly new to this, so you're not quite as practiced at having to do all of this as some people saying no to your ideas are, it'll seem difficult, just stick with it and see it through, take all of those things people say no to and think them through, take those things people said yes to and make them even better if you can.
Perhaps a better idea is to focus on one thing at a time, for now instead of focusing on all three materials, your company and your character, focus on just making Scintillack work, then the NeverCold Brass, finally the Prisoners Honey. Once you've got those ideas approved you can begin using them to develop your company and then finally your character. Remember what I said, take one idea at a time, get it approved, then move onto the next one and keep going.
You'll come up with something absolutely spectacular eventually, you have the potential, just keep working on it.

Yeah, I could easily see this being good, and it is NOT bad, just needs a tiny bit of work on getting ideas across to us lesser species and on balance.
-
Ah so this is what the that Google Drive is about.
I think your problem is that you are trying to import magical materials from a game into a scifi RP. I mean nevercold brass is imported by demons in that game!
-
Currently I don't know what else to add to make this get passed >:(
-
Currently I don't know what else to add to make this get passed >:(
do not add. subtract.
-
Ok I don't know what to remove to get passed
-
Okay, at this point it looks like what people object to is the metals. Either because we've had no real explanation on how exactly they work, or because they just look outright magic. Then we've got the whole 'only one person has access to this stuff' thing which makes it a no for me.
Even with Shroomsteel, even though it's a singular race that can produce it the whole race can still make it. Here we just have a singular person who can make it, thus being kind of unfair.
-
Its a company that can produce it and ill make it golems as the backbone of the company would that be ok?
-
also i added explenations
-
Do you know how to edit posts?
-
i do edit posts ive edited mine a million times
-
You probably shouldnt double post. It's against the rules.

You probably shouldnt double post. It's against the rules.
It's not like the mods are nazis or anything. The occassional doublepost is fine.
-
You probably shouldnt double post. It's against the rules.
I'd probably get banned a few times over if that rule was enforced.
-
Okay, I'll go ahead and tell you what I think you should do.
Drop the metals for now. You have not explained in detail how they work the way they are supposed to.
Make the company, flesh it out, make it balanced with the other companies(something I had trouble with tbh).
Describe in detail the ship and weapon. Use the templates we already have.
Now this is the point you pick the metals back up and start fleshing them out, explain why they do what do in Detail.
Also, please stop sending me PMs about this. I have told you that I cannot just approve something and any development of this needs to be done in this thread. I will be aware when it is updated and will respond in thread.
-
Zawerii reworked this into something decent in another thread. Sorry if we are a bit grumpy, quality control is important. I also left a guide in his company thread. Set your sight to the common man before the star god, Kay?
