Setting
It was six years ago when the Flood happened. It over took all of the sea side cities and surged inland into America and other countries. It stopped before consuming everything, but by then society had collapsed. People formed groups and began living under their own rules, or living lives of anarchy and self indulgence in the apocalypse.
And now here we are, with you stumbling into shelter from the pounding rain.
Mechanics
This is turn based RP with the turns taking one in game week.
Time Management: You will dictate how much time is dedicated to what task everyday for the current turn per person, so if you control two people then you'll dictate both their schedules.
Food and water: You need food and water to survive. You can find these by scavenging or by some other means.
Construction: You can build objects, workbenches, etc. and fortify where you've holed up to better survive. Whether it's rain catchers or covering a hole in the wall, the objects you construct can either help provide resources or help you defend against any possible attacks.

Is being on a boat okay?
-
Being on a boat is fine, but there will be some things that will be more difficult. You won't be able to fit a lot of survivors in it and it'll require either a sail and favorable winds or gasoline to be able to move effectively.

John Mattock
You entered the old church to find several pews smashed and only two of the stained glass windows still intact. After exploring the building you found a hammer and some boards(though their not long enough to cover the windows), looks like the church was doing some renovating. You also found large box of crackers and a few jugs of grape juice in the cellar. In the belfry you don't find much, but someone stole the bell, but there's some rope left.
Nearby locations
Hardware store 1 hour away
Hospital 3 hours away (flooded)
Gas station 1 hour away

The mall was a little over waist deep in water when you arrived. You managed to grab a sledgehammer on your way through the hardware store that you entered the mall through. Wading through the water you found a counter with a jug of water that someone must have left along with a few packets of MREs. You figure you can scavenge around the mall for things you might need, but to go too far outside the mall would require something to help you move.
Nearby Locations
The mall 0 hours away (A mall is large enough that you can scavenge it for odds and ends, and you might find specific locations to go back to)
Hardware store 30 minutes away (inside mall)
Office 1 hour away
Housing district 2 hours away (time penalty, flooded)
Dan Bale
The top floor of the hotel was abandoned, with suit cases and abandoned items left in the hallways and in the rooms. Several people took it as an opportunity to loot and it appears they attempted to steal everything from jewelry to the Hotel's TVs and stereo systems. The roof didn't have anything much to mention, a couple of air conditioning units. You found some vegetables and a carton of water bottles.
Nearby locations
The Hotel 0 hours away (because it's a hotel, it's pretty big)
Wal-Mart 1 hour away
Office supply store 2 hours away
Home depot 4 hours away (flooded)
George Smith
Your apartment was still relatively well kept but the water wasn't running anymore and everyone else had left. You stored some bottles of water and preserved foods, and you managed to find a pocket knife from somewhere. Unfortunately the ground floor was was up to your knees in water.
Nearby locations
Mcdonalds 30 minutes away
small grocery store 1 hour away
Warehouse 2 hours away (flooded)
Paxton Hawke
You managed to find a sea worthy boat before the flood got too bad in your area. Unfortunately now the surrounding area is mostly underwater saving for some multi story buildings you could see. You searched the vessel and found a few cans of food and bottles of water, along with a fishing pole, fishing line, and hooks along with a pocket knife. Unfortunately you don't see any bait. Thankfully the ship already had sails and a motor, but you'll need gas for it.
Nearby locations
3-story hotel 1 hour away
Fry's 2 hours away (for those that don't know, it's an electronics store...)
two story car dealership 2 hours away
Notes to players
you can just explore and find new places to scavenge from or otherewise.
And don't forget to budget some time for sleep, maybe not every day but I'm not going to let you get away with going two months without it.
If you have questions go ahead and ask, I'll answer any I can even if it's not in a full blown update.
Yes, you don't have much, but that's kind of the point. You need to find materials and items to build things to help you survive, and I didn't want to hand you too much, just some things to help you get started.
-
George yawns, then gets the water, food and the pocket knife and starts walking to the McDonalds.
-
Max that's not how this works.
Every in game turn takes a week. You assign a number of hours to a given task for each day. So a turn might look something like this
Monday: 4 hours scavenging at Mcdonalds(factor in travel time so you're spending 3 and a half hours scavving), 6 hours building (insert thing here), 6 hours scavenging at home depot, 6 hours sleeping.
and do that for the seven days of the week.
oh, and travel time is totalled for getting there and getting back to your current location.
-
I am sorry, again. Thanks for helping me.
Monday : 5 hours scavenging at McDonalds, 30 minutes eating, 2 hours scavenging the small grocery store, 9 hours building trenches around the apartment building, 30 minutes eating, 7 hours sleeping.
Tuesday : 10 hours scavenging at McDonalds, 30 minutes eating, 5 hours scavenging the small grocery store, 2 hours building a small wall around the building, 30 minutes eating ,6 hours sleeping.
Wednesday : 14 hours scavenging the warehouse, 30 minutes eating, 2 hours trying to get the water out of the ground floor of the building, 30 minutes eating, 6 hours sleeping.
Thursday : 14 hours scavenging the warehouse, 30 minutes eating, 6 hours trying to get the water out of the ground floor of the building, 30 minutes eating, 2 hours sleeping.
Friday :14 hours scavenging the warehouse, 30 minutes eating, 2 hours trying to get the water out of the ground floor of the building, 30 minutes eating, 6 hours sleeping.
Saturday : 4 hours resting, 30 minutes eating, 10 hours scavenging the warehouse, 30 minutes eating, 9 hours sleeping.
Sunday : 7 hours scavenging the warehouse, 30 minutes eating, 7 hours scavenging at McDonalds, 30 minutes eating, 9 hours sleeping.

John grumbles ["Someone must'a really hated this church...",
Monday: He spends 1 hour heading to the hardware store and 2 hours scavenging for what he can find, he spends 2 hours (approx.) Heading to the gas station from the hardware store and another 2 hours looting the gas station. He then heads back and heads up the belfry to look around for any more locations and any possible intruders for an hour. He has a meal of a few crackers and grape juice and goes to sleep in one of the pews.
Tuesday: John looks around the church for an hour to see if there's any intact bibles. He spends around an hour disassembling one of the pews for nails and wood, he then spends 6 hours fortifying the church with the broken pew wood, hopefully the parts that you sit on and rest your back on are long enough to cover the Windows somewhat. He saves one of the pews to sleep on.
Wednesday: John will spend 3 hours heading toward the flooded hospital, and another 2 hours exploring the surrounding area. He then spends another 3 hours heading back. He spends the rest of the day watching for intruders.
Thursday: He'll spend 7 hours exploring for new locations and spends 4 heading back. He rewards himself with some crackers.
Friday: He'll spend 1 hour heading to the hardware store and 5 hours looting. He'll spend 2 hours heading toward the gas station and spend 6 hours looting. He heads back and has some grape juice, ands sleeps.
Sunday-Saturday: He'll spend 12 hours looting the hardware store and 1 hour heading back, he'll spend 7 hours sleeping. He'll spend 8 hours heading to and looting the gas station. He'll head back and keep watch for 4 hours, then he sleeps for 8 hours.

((Since you didn't mention, I'll go ahead and assume that the mall has atleast 2 floors. Where the upper floor is relatively dry.))
Day 1:
Well, the place has a roof, and it's not exactly in hard to get shelter from the winds either. But it's a bit of a fixer-upper, and the ground floor isn't that nice to swim through. I'll go ahead and claim a spot on the dryer upper floor.
I'll need to build a watercraft of some sort if I'm to get out into the city.
Mall looks nice though, I bet a smller boat could go right on into the first floor.
I'll go ahead and write down some sort of schedule on this piece of wood that was drifting around.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday:
-scavenge the mall for 16 hours. Look for weapons, supplies, tools, and something to use as a raft of sorts.
-sleep for 8 hours
Saturday-Sunday:
-scavenge the hardware store for 11 hours, time to get there and back included in those hours.
-scavenge the mall for 5 hours.
-sleep for 8 hours.
Other note:
-Eat and drink only as necceary. Need to ration any supplies found.
-
Sunday: Spend 16 hours exploring the hotel from floor to floor with a prejudice towards food and perhaps a carrying device like a backpack. He would probably already find a suitcase but those are unwieldly. Which leaves 8 hours of sleep (assume I leave 8 hours of sleep each day unless specified).
Monday: Spend one hour approaching (and returning from) Wal-Mart. Fifteen hours will then be spent searching the place for anything of use. If carrying device is found, bring it along with a suit case for extra carrying capacity. Today is food day (eat one ration of food)
Tuesday: Four hour trip to and from Home Depot. Spend as much time as needed until the following things are found: rope, empty water jugs (the large blue ones[about 20]), large piece of plywood, 15 foot long pole. After these are found, make a raft using the jugs as flotation devices with rope keeping it all together. The pole is to push it along the bottom and has a paddle attachment if needed.
Wednesday: Repeat Tuesday but this time search for things like fishing equipment and guns and ammunition. Food Day
Thursday: Head North and explore that general direction making sure to bring a pencil and paper to map out what I find. (8 hours)
Friday: Explore the office supply store and see what's inside of it. May as well toss the place while we're here (10 hours). Food Day
Saturday: Relax. Get some extra sleep. Read manga I stole from Wall-Mart. Wish the internet was back so I had some fap material.
-
I'm going to need to reschedule the first update, probably to sunday. The work I'm doing is exhausting and I don't think I can give you guys a decent quality update as is
-
Yo Vully-chan, you still gonna update this?
-
In short: Yes I'll update.
In long form: Yes I'll update tomorrow. A bunch of shit came up that's kept me relatively busy throughout today, and yesterday wasn't much better. From minor work related stuff to personal problems have popped up and it's been a wee bit stressful.

Monday Report: You find five days of food and four days of water, and determine you'll need something to help you break up and move the concrete.
Tuesday Report: You find a days worth of food, two days of water, and begin building a wall around your hotel. You'll need some tools before you can really build a substantial wall though, and your pretty sure Mcdonalds is out of food.
Wendesday-Friday: You find an axe, sewing kit, and a small cache of food and water that will last you 1 day in the warehouse. You get some of the water out but this will take a lot of time.
Saturday: You find a hammer and twenty wooden planks in the warehouse.
Sunday: you scavenge in the warehouse and find five more boards. you don't find any food in the mcdonalds but you find a wooden club probably left by a looter.
John Mattock
Monday: You find a hammer and box of nails in the hardware store. You head to the gas station and find two days worth of food and water. You spot what looks like a pawnshop in the distance from the belfry.
Tuesday: You find a mostly intact bible. You take a few of the pews apart and then begin using them to cover the windows. You cover most of the windows, all but two.
Wednesday: You head out to the hospital and explore the surrounding area. You find a small store built into the corner of a building, looking through the windows it looks like a bookstore. You head back and keep watch, but nothing happens.
Thursday: You find a few apartments that don't look to be looted yet, and a large warehouse.
Friday: You find ten boards long enough to cover the remaining windows in the church. You find a crate of granola bars that will last you five days, and a jug of water that will last you two days.
Saturday-Sunday: You scavenge in the hardware store and find a few boxes of nails, a crowbar, and ten more boards. You go to loot the gas station and find the aftermath of some fight that happened including a dead body. Looting it you find a candy bar, a knife, and a pen. Looking through the gas station you find a propane tank and a box of quarter-rolls. You head back and stand watch, but you don't see anything and head off to sleep.
John Wells

Tuesday: You find a small canoe drifting about as you explore. You also find a couple bottles of booze and a days worth of food as well.
Wednesday: You find a box of books, from gardening to construction being the topics. You also find a couple of jugs of water that will last you a couple of days.
Thursday-Friday: You find a small generator in one of the storage rooms and find a few game consoles in the old game store, not useful right now but once you have some kind of power they could help kill time. You also find a set of paddles of the canoe.
Saturday-Sunday: You bring back twenty boards from the hardware store, a small hammer, and five boxes of nails. You also find a set of screw drivers on saturday. you find bring back ten more boards and manage to find a socket wrench and a box of sockets.
Dan Bale (...doing monday to sunday mate)
Monday: You look through the floors of the hotel and find a few cans of ravioli that will last you a couple of days, along with two days of water. You find a messenger bag that would help you carry things.
Tuesday: You find three days of food and two days of water at walmart. You also find a bow but it looks like people took all of the arrows from the store, along with the guns too. You don't find much else on this trip and head back.
Wednesday: It takes you the whole day to find the materials for your raft and construct it. It will work for now but it'll need some improving.
Thursday: You find a fishing pole, line, and a couple of hooks. After scouring the Home Depot you come to the conclusion that they don't sell firearms or ammunition and head back.
Friday: You find a couple of small stores to the north but not much else. You head back and sleep.
Saturday: You find loads of paper and pens in the office store, a bunch of office styled furniture that you'd have ot come back for, and a box of cigarettes and a lighter.
Sunday: You rest, wishing you had found any Manga but alas walmart had none. You spend the day resting and sleeping
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, going to change something. We're going to change to doing 3 days a turn. I realized that you guys were planning solely around the resources you had and that you might have had other plans midway through a turn thanks to new gear or things you found. This lets you guys change your overall plans midweek instead of being stuck with the ones you've got. So say you found a bullet proof vest tuesday, you could decide to equip it on the next turn which in this case would only be an additional day away instead of five.
I'll also be more descriptive, which I honestly should have been.
-
Monday : 5 hours trying to make something like a knife, 4 hours sleeping, 13 hours looting the warehouse. ((Eats when he gets hungry, drinks when he is thirsty. This goes fir all his days))
Tuesday : Scavenging the small grocery store, 15 hours. 9 hours sleeping.
Wednesday : Scavenging the warehouse - 20 hours. Sleeping 4 hours.

Day 8:
Weeks been wonderfully abundant on loot. Got a fully-functioning canoe, and some books describing in great detail on how to build stuff.
Now I can head on out through the mall entrance, and into the city. Gotta be some plentiful loot out there.
Inventory:
-A pile of food. Some of the old MRE's might be in there. Can't be assed to check.
-Plenty of water. Need that.
-Fire axe. Sweet, something to break down locked doors, and perhaps even unwilling people? Dark thought...
-2 bottles of booze. Vodka and Whiskey. Nice, but let's keep this for celebrations...
-Box of books. Lots of instructional ones. May even rebuild civilization with these.
-Small gasoline generator. YES. JUST YES. WHERE DO I FIND GAS?
-Game consoles. Scrap. All of it scrap. No way could they have survived the water.
-30 wooden boards. Always good to have building material.
-Hammer and five boxes of nails. Sweet things to have with the boards.
-Screwdriver set.
-Socket wrench with accompaning set.
All in all, lots of nice stuff.
Schedule:
Monday:
-Head on out of the mall with canoe for 16 hours, and generally explore. Gas stations would be nice to find.
-Make sure to be back to sleep for 8 hours.
Tuesday:
-Scrounge around the mall for 16 hours again. Gotta pick it clean.
-Sleep for 8 hours.
Wednesday:
-See about building some kind of gate at the mall entrance using the boards for 8 hours. Would make any looters think twice atleast.
-If there's any spare materials, see about building a dock of sorts for the canoe using 8 hours. Gonna turn this mall into a little Venice!
-Sleep for 8 hours.

Monday: You manage to assemble a working wooden handle for a knife and find a piece of metal that you'll be able to sharpen into the blade for the knife. You'll need to find a way to sharpen it though. You walk into the warehouse later and find a large pile of crates that had been broken open by someone. You search through the pile and find a few MRE's that had been left behind. Searching through the warehouse you don't find much else today and head back.
Tuesday: You head to the grocery store and begin looking through the store. You use the axe to break the lock on the storage room door. You find a box of preserved food that will last you two days and a small thing of water that will last you one day. Unfortunately it looks like you've taken everything there is in the store.
Wednesday: You head to the warehouse and start searching it. You find a large metal crate containing a large backpack, a metal jerry can full of water, and two days worth of MRE's. You take back 20 boards and a few boxes of nails after searching the warehouse.
John Wells
Monday: You head out into the nearby city on the canoe. You spot a few buildings where you might find a few things, including a two story bookstore and a somewhat submerged gas station. Unfortunately there's not much else of note you spot.
Tuesday: You search through the mall. You find a clothes store and take a few bags and other miscellaneous clothes from it. You also find a store that contains things from household appliances like stoves to small lawnmowers. You take a few odds and ends from the store and head back.
Wednesday: using some boards, the hammer, and a bunch of nails you make a gate at the entrance to the mall. With some spare materials you begin building a dock but it will take some time to finish.
-
((Can I explore around me to find new locations?))
Thursday : 18 hours scavenging the warehouse, 6 hours sleeping.
Friday : 5 hours exploring around him, 10 hours scavenging the warehouse, 9 hours sleeping.
Saturday : 18 hours scavenging the warehouse, 6 hours sleeping.
-
yes you can explore. Just put: (amount of time) exploring
You can be more detailed about what your looking for, it's all up to you.
