self explanatory. Id have to say Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries, as we havent had a singleplayer mechwarrior game since it, and it is SO good. mabye add a sandbox mode where you jsut dick around the inner sphere and take missions, but i want a remake of it. it just has so many awesome moments. like, the first time you take down a heavy mech. or that mission where you, and two lances of Inner Sphere Mechwarriors, fight a full Binary of clan assault mechs. AND WIN. a game of my childhood, and a series that died far too soon.

Stronghold 2/3 didn't look like they add up to the original.

Spore. It had so much potential to be even more awesome than it is. I'd mainly change of the tribal/city stages, and add that aquatic phase between cell/animal, which was cut out to conserve disk space.

Me too, hence the "so much potential to be even more awesome than it is" part.

I liked spore but, i really wanted that whole dragging dead bodies thing.

I'd have to pick either Jagged Alliance 1.13 or Rome Total War. Seems like no one can remake JA without it remaining a buggy mess (kinda true to the original), but the sheer amount of guns and customization is really appealing. It's also one of the only games I have over 100 hours on without having just destroyed, but really needs modernization and a more optional micromanagement system.
Yeah, there's Rome II, which isn't a horrible game after a year of updates, but is too DLC dependent and uses the horrible melee system found in all Total War games starting with medieval. It's supposed to be a strategy game, I don't need to see "cinematic" one on one fights - I want my guys to be able to pile on the enemy and kill them quickly. Just focuses on the wrong things in my mind, and after around 500 hours in the first Rome, it seems like not a ton would need to be done to fix the issues it has (no late game for non-romans).
Maybe the second MoO, too. World needs more hotseat games that don't suck, and putting the ship building system from stardrive into it would be great.

I'd have said FarGate, since it was one of my favourite childhood games, but it was fairly obscure since it was in direct competition to the original Homeworld, which kinda was a better game and has recently got a remake anyway.
Second choice of Hogs of War also got a remake, that I don't believe works properly though.
A remake of the original C&C games would be great though, the last game sucked.

Harvester. The game is already eerie and creepy, and just really wrong. I wonder how much crazier it would be with updated graphics, writing, and better game play mechanics. (It had combat. It sucked.)
I imagine it would be almost similar to Hatred if it were to be remade now.
Also Earthbounnnnndddddd..... Loved that game. Wasn't a childhood favorite but I joined the cult following a few years back. Great story, great characters. Lovely game.

I would remake Day 1: Garry's Incedent. I would make it not suck.

Duuuuude Earthbound 2/ Mother 3's battle against the masked man made me cry.

DayZ; I'd make it more exciting than a walking sim
-
Tiny bit off topic but I've never seen the appeal of games like DayZ where any time you start to become slightly successful someone is just gonna come along and fuck your shit up just to be a dick.
I'd remake most games that've taken that awful route lately and remove the concept of being a dick to each other just for the sake of it, because it's easy to ruin someone else's game, it's incredibly hard to actually get anything done with a team of strangers you're forced to work with to survive .

Actually, Dayz Mod was a HUGE thing for me a couple years ago. I joined when it was first starting, and I only left when the Standalone version was a bit dissapointing. I spent a good 2 years on their forums, and it directly lead me to CATA, so it lead me to you guys, so it has a special place in my heart. Also, I was pretty damn good at it. Actually got a 20$ bounty on me in game once. Damn i miss it. I wish it was still like the first few months, where people were nice and trusting and everyone wasn't a threat to your safety.
-
Yeah, all I see of DayZ now is "Oh shit, theres a guy, better kill him just in case he shoots me"
-
Stalker. Because damn, all those loading times.
And make it even more alive yet more stalkery.
-
I want an Eternal Darkness remake and a Façade remake. With the newer consoles and technologie, I believe they would get a lot better.
-
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. Its a good game, the only things Id change are a graphics update, lower the loading times, up the difficulty, and add online functionality. It might just be me, but newer monster hunter games just aren't as difficult as the old ones are. It's not even something I'm complaining about. IF it is easier, then fine. that makes it more accessible to people in general, but I just want that difficulty back. I dont want to utterly wreck the monsters I fight. I want a steady tooth and nail climb up the hunting ladder. I got monster hunter 4 ultimate and just ask my friends, I play that game like a crazed, careless berserker and just scythe my way through that game. Its still good though, and maybe its those nostalgia shades, but MHFU was harder.

Stalker. Because damn, all those loading times.

I would make a STALKER like game if i could ever figure out the source engine enough. or any engine.

The original Dues Ex, expand it, give more lore, and make action fighting more viable, as well as streamlining play to help new players, while retaining a gameplay setting to restore original controls for the purists, oh and a graphics enhancement. Though in all honesty this game deserves a sequel more in line with it's gameplay and style, and truly as open as the original.
-
Deus Ex did get a sequel already actually.
Deus Ex: Invisible War should be scrapped as cannon though, since that game was awful and then a new sequel to Deus Ex should be made in its place
