Oh and I did have a public discord for the community, it was actual cancer due to some edgelord saying he'd date one of the Manson girls and that there was a huge Jew conspiracy, this was all unironic of course.

I like it, but that atmosphere would kill humans pretty quickly.

Everyone living there that can't survive in the heavily polluted "atmosphere" is basically strapped up with internals, and a lot of living quarters or public buildings have their own internal air supply running through their specific part. I'm still writing it out, but oxygen is treated like how we'd treat water or heating here on Earth, people (depending on which part of the station they're on) have to pay a fee to whoever the local crime lord is that keeps their specific part running for oxygen, as soon as they start skipping payments or can't afford it the filters keeping their place habitable gets turned off.

The place wasn't always heavily polluted, at some point it was about as habitable as any other space station or ship, but overtime both due to the slapdash nature of how the place was constructed in later years and how quickly the place expanded it created loads more problems.

This is actually a pretty interesting idea, I hadn't considered people just jamming ships together until it accidentally turns into a planet.

Yeah and I thought the consequence of it would be pretty interesting as well, with a lot of the old crew dead and not a whole lot of offspring/successors no one really knows how to keep up with the old segments. So you have whole areas of the ship that are depressurized and locked off from the general public.

I'll be expanding on life inside the 'planet' soon'ish I'm getting started on a few Youtube projects before I start writing up on this.

I bought the Witcher 3 GOTY a while back and didn't start playing it until about the tail end of last month and is easily my favorite videogame to play at the moment, everything with its characters and atmosphere is just striking the right cord for me at the moment.

The Legend of Hive Station: Hive-Station is the sphere of welded together starship wreckage that casually drifts around in the Tau Ceti solar system with a thick blanket of smog trailing behind it. "Construction" of the station began in [REDACTED] when a few hundred AWOL engineers fled their respective corporations and nations, going into hiding inside of a ship graveyard where monolithic-sized freighter and fighter ships lay hollowed and torn apart.

They spent their first few years fending off pirates and raiders alike. It eventually gained the graveyard a reputation for being haunted with, "The souls of vengeful crewman whose war has not yet ended for them." Once the attackers started arriving in less and less numbers in fear that they'd be claimed by the 'ghost fleet'; the engineers set out on creating a station that was capable of "FTL" travel.

Construction of the station lasted from [REDACTED] to [REDACTED], and was made from the left over hulls, engines, and salvaged weapons they had managed to peel off of or just slap onto the station. Their method of FTL however didn't really work as intended and killed the engines when they tried to jump from their little corner of "haunted" space, so instead they casually drift through space1 and by 'flinging' themselves off the gravity of other planets.

There was also the fact that the guns2 they had brought on board were more for show then anything else, so when it came to dealing with pirates and raiders they did just that, deal with them. Offering protection and housing to anyone that didn't want to be on the business end of their guns.

Due to this policy the place quickly became home for convicts, smugglers, or anyone that just wanted to disappear for a long while. Space was never a worry either as with each victorious battle they'd take the plasma burnt wreckage of the loser's starship and weld it onto the station.

Overtime the station became massive, massive enough to be recognized as a planet to some (a planet full of criminals mind you). But with that time comes age, the station is rusted out, falling apart, and breeches in space are more common near the older parts of the station. Much of the old crew has died out and what was left of the 'government' it had has died with it. Instead you have mobs and gangs policing their specific part of the station, and occasionally come together for a meeting to adjust who gets what turf, how much the people should pay for protection in their sector, and what the merchants should be bringing into the station.

Along with all this is the fact that there are thousands of engines barely functioning to provide enough power for the whole station, and these engines aren't state of the art either. They range from fusion reactors to portable gas-powered engines that humans have brought on board, provided with a lack of proper sanitation and waste disposal methods; the place reeks and the air quality makes Detroit's air seem like a breath of fresh alpine air.

So independent air supplies are required to be on this station, and a lot of the "apartments" come with built in atmospherics... but from the state of the rest of the station can you really rely on it to keep you breathing?

Notes:
1. The thrusters still work but not in the way of FTL travel, instead it just pushes the station along at a snails pace. So the thing basically isn't getting anywhere anytime soon and maybe that's a good thing.
2. The guns work, but firing them might spell more damage for the station as their old, unreliable, and the ammunition for some of them hasn't been used in ages. The more recent weapon 'additions' to the station aren't really a concern however.


((So what you basically have here is a giant floating space slum that is barely keeping itself together as it lacks engineers (new or old) to keep the place together. Its supposed to have that feeling of a rusty junk world that's covered in years and years of wear and tear with stories to tell. Originally this was going to be a huge ring world with a upper-class/lower-class dynamic, but I thought making a floating hunk of junk would be a lot more interesting.))

((There's also the fact that I wrote this at 3AM and finished up at 5AM, so I don't know if my idea is lucid or coherent enough.))

Okay now I'm back after a long bout of depression, November has been such a grey hazy blur I don't even remember what went on for half of it. I think I was actually both physically and emotionally dead for it, but now its December, its winter time, I got that warm fire burning inside me once more and my glasses come in next week which means I can finally get my driving stuff done.

So now that I'm back and human, not the aggressive angst ridden mess I was last month. How's everything been? Lord Bisquick showed me the Utterly Mad Serialized Space Drama we got going.

Um, that's a bit aggressive... But still good points. Also welcome back.

Oh yeah its very aggressive because I'm sick of seeing people with giant egos because they "create things" especially when they're on the same level as everyone else.

I've learned that being humble about your works and not being an ass to your friends is probably for the best. And that sugar coating things never gets anywhere.
