Utterly Mad

Just out of curiosity, have you ever considered starting your own fork of DDA? I doubt you'd have trouble finding people who Granola has pissed off who'd like to contribute, and if I'm being honest, you guys being pissed at someone who is actively acting as a dev (whether his ideas are shitty or not) while continually saying you're not wanting to be involved with it anymore, and trying to call him out on their forums leaves a kinda bad taste in my mouth from a "taking the higher ground" standpoint. Besides, it's pretty clear those guys have a very set idea of how they want the game to be, and many people seem to think it's a shitty future for DDA.

I personally would rather play something built by RD and other folks who've given up on dealing with the DDA dev crap than what it seems like they're planning to do. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would enjoy that - even LC's fork got played, and he was arguably just as big of a twat as The Almighty Granola Bar, so I'm pretty sure you guys as non-twats would have some success.

I doubt it. The Almighty Granola Bar is very big on putting stuff in game that he swore would never be in game. I have a nice big post about it over there somewhere.

I don't think Diet Granola Bar was actually being all that unreasonable in what he was looking for (assuming I'm reading this right and his initial issue was including it as a feature, not a packaged mod), and looking over the PR, it seems like he gave reasonable input to a new programmer and suggested a way for him to set his own goal posts. Then things got a little hostile and he began dickery.

Anyway, that's my opinion. Don't really feel like starting an argument with you fine folks over something I really don't care about in the end.

Dreamatrix. Fuck those people. Taking their game down from steam so they can slap "reborn" on the title and rerelease it for an extra 10$ so they can erase all their negative reviews. If I remember correctly, the old listing had several hundred reviews, and of all of them only 11% of them were positive. The "reborn" version only has 53 reviews, and 33% of them are positive, mostly because the old negative reviewers can't be bothered to endure dreamatrix's abuse for leaving negative reviews. I received an email from dreamatrix telling me not to leave a negative review.  The shittiest thing about all this is that Legends of Dawn "reborn" is almost exactly the same game as normal Legends of Dawn.

Fuck those devs. You do not tell someone their review is bad based on play time. There have been a couple of games that I played sixty minutes or less, realized I wasn't having fun but still had an opinion (though I don't write steam reviews), sometimes that opinion is bad sometimes its good but the game is not for me.

Aya, we can all have opinions. The bit that really pissed most of the negative reviewers off was the censorship game they played with everyone. Say a single bad thing and you were banned, out on your ass, and all your posts deleted. Regardless of how much I bitch and moan and complain about any game, there is no game/developer I hold in anywhere near as low regard as I hold Dreamatrix.

Sorry for the double post, I had to look up "digital homicide." Holy fucking shit, I agree vulnus. Even Dreamatrix isn't THAT bad.

I think it would be just as beneficial for them to make certain aspects of their contracts public. I find alot of times shitty devs hide behind the "oh, steam is making us do things this way" excuse. Stardrive was a good example of that. Everything was always someone else's fault - the game itself wasn't awful, but the way the dev dealt with literally any complaint was.

DH makes me lul in a sad way.

Quite belatedly, I should perhaps give Salt a clarification: Diet Granola Bar claims the mod hasn't been rejected outright, only closed with the claim that it is acceptable except for the array of ideas that he hasn't really been clear about.
