Double post for reasons
I am now genning the world.
World size is small
History is short (125 years)
Number of Civs is high*
Max number of sites is low*
Number of beasts is very high
Savagery is very high
Mineral occurrence is sparse.
*-these settings like this, in my experience, raises the number of viable locations (by keeping them free of towns and such) while keep world population (and thus invasion forces) high.
Had to discard at least 30 or 40 otherwise good maps and a few absolutely shit ones, but I finally managed to gen a world that is almost entirely deserts and dark "human" forts. There's even a volcano in a desert on a peninsula beyond normal human territory, but I believe it is beyond goblin reach, and might be within reach of a tower. We will see when I begin embark. side note: gen time is very slow for some reason.
