Take this as you will
---------------------------------
I've done things that make me wonder who I really am. Things I am no longer proud of. But I don't look back on these, for what is to be gained from looking on something that only brings me pain now?
No, instead I move forward, step by step, breath by breath. There are things that weigh me down, things I cannot remove from myself, but I continue on. And when the weight becomes too much for me to bear I know there are those I can lean on.
I've made mistakes, but I do not dwell on them for I have little use for those memories other then to remind me of things I should not do. Believe me, I've made mistakes that I wish I could change, turn back the clock. Mistakes that I wish I could pay any price to change. But as with life I must continue onward and move forward, for life gives a man only a single chance in the moment.
So here I stand, in front of another challenge to climb, another hilltop to reach. And as I step forward the weight I carry settles on my shoulders, heavier then when I was climbing the last hill. But I know there are those who will stand with me, those who will aid me in this, and those people who do have my grattitude.
Life demands we carry on, or pay a toll. I choose to carry on, for the toll is too hefty for me to pay.

don't want to start a thread for this since IDK if I'll actually pursue it.

32 sat at the table, his left arm in a sling as he leaned back and attempted to ignore the woman nagging him from the kitchen. He looked at the window that had been covered with a set of drapes since he had been here and sighed. The elderly woman walked out of the kitchen and put a plate of food on the table in front of him, speaking in a heavy Russian accent, a bit of a rarity in this part of the world now. "Eat, you need to eat to get your strength up."
32 reached his free hand up and pulled his helmet off, then undid the straps on his gas mask. He pulled the heavy metal mask from his face and set it on the table, taking note of the woman's shocked reaction at his face. Having no nose, a thin see through layer of skin covering his eyes, a lack of lips, and a distinct lack of pigmentation in his skin often got that reaction. He began to eat as the woman went back to the kitchen.
32 ate the meal as he would any other, then put his gas mask and helmet back on. The woman's two grandsons walked in and sat down across from him and Marcus started talking. "Patrols have started to become a bit more infrequent. We might be able to move you out tonight, but it's your call."
32 looked at the two of them then back at the drapes. His voice rasped out from the mask as he said "We will move out tonight to the base Samuel manufactured for us. I will be in the back of the truck underneath a tarp. Make sure we do not draw suspicion during our trip."
The two men nodded and got up.

We walked through the corridor of the Sector as I slammed the arming handle closed. The weapon weighed surprisingly little but I knew it would eliminate any target. That was my job after all, to eliminate any target designated by Command.

We were five in number against potentially hundreds of targets. There were other squads of course but the likely hood of joining up with another squad was unlikely given the size of an Accommodations Sector. Still even a thousand targets would not have worried a man in my squad. We took care of our equipment.

We walked into one of the plaza areas to see several armed individuals. Energy bolts flew through the air, some even impacting our armor to no effect. In return we sent a volley of fire into the enemy that rendered seven of the ten targets dead before they thought to run for cover. The other three were put down as they turned to run.

Without a word we continued further into the sector. Looting had already begun plaguing the area with several groups of looters diving in and out of stores and homes. They were not our concern however and we left them alone. Peace keepers would come eventually and there would be enough evidence to convict them. We only concerned ourselves with confirmed dissidents and those who attempted to attack us.

Soon we approached a large home that intelligence indicated was a central point of command for the dissident forces. The doors were opened with little fuss and we moved into the residence. We moved through the residence and soon stopped near a doorway through which we heard a number of dissidents arguing about the veracity of reports that we were present.

Stepping through the open doorway I opened fire and delivered a number of bullets to their targets. The dissidents in question were all armed with energy weapons and found that the fire they thought would kill me was ineffectual. My men were quick to follow and eliminated the majority of the remaining targets before they could find cover. The remaining two wouldn’t be much threat as we moved to get line of sight.

The other died quickly while I found my target lying on the floor. The result of him pulling the trigger of his weapon was the sound of it malfunctioning and overloading the energy clip. On that type of pistol a minor problem that caused the battery to melt, on others he might have caved the story above us on top of us. Either way one bullet found it’s way into his skull. He failed to take care of his equipment and on the field of battle that was a cardinal sin. Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you.

Hey first thing I've enjoyed writing in a while so I'm probably going to continue this! Also got some ideas concerning the Syndicate that I'm going to do as well so this thread is going to get used.
