I don't see why not. If you want to keep ambiguity, you could just refer to them as "him" if not giving a name keeps it mysterious.

Also, posts around 8-9 because I'm out and about.

No wonder, you haven't posted in a while! Anyways, we're finally heading out to sea and it would SEAm that we've come across an evil thing in the waters. I, Jolie, tried to allude that this isn't a normal monster that you see this close and I tried to establish that it's basically impossible to kill at this point, or I at least thing for story telling we should be incapable of killing it.
