She only remembered a few things from her captivity. First, the feel of the mutagens doing their work. Second, the blank looks of the scientists as they administered it. Third, the few books she was allowed to have in her room. An educational book titled "planes, trains, and automobiles," more a childs picture book than anything else, and a book titled "under the hood" a mechanical manual that the scientists thought she was frankly too stupid to read.
