Fallout: FROST (Interactive Story)
« on: August 26, 2015, 09:34:08 pm »
War, War never changes, men do, through the roads they walk. The Frozen Wasteland is one of the coldest, harshest, areas in the american wasteland, The Frozen Wastes is similar to the Mojave after The Courier walked it's roads, it's kill or be killed and succumb to the ice and snow of the area.

You wake up from the bed you commandeered from this Fire-watch tower you found near a summer-camp. You get out of bed and put on your boots, They have fur linings with leather outsides and they're steel toed. You stand up and stretch, walking you your hiking bag you set at the foot of the bed, you look in it for some breakfast until something catches your eye, an old child's book you found in a toy chest inside an old apartment. The title reads "You're SPECIAL!" you flip through the pages, it's an interactive pop-up book sorta deal. You pull the tabs to where you see fit.

((Now, what you do here is set the character's s.p.e.c.i.a.l. attributes.))

((It's lork's/exodus's special set))

You put the book back in your bag, it's a large camping bag with a rifle holder that's holding your rifle. The rifle is a Lee Enfield, it's well repaired with the bolt is well oiled and clean. You take stock of what's in your bag,

Large Hiking Bag:
[Around three corn-meal tortillas]
[A folding hunting knife]
[A box of .303 rounds]
[A can of raviolis]
["You're S.P.E.C.I.A.L." book]
[]
[]
[]

There's around two days of food left in there, you didn't take anything from the fire-watch tower yet, what do you do?

Search the tower for loot to see what stuff we hadn't picked up yet.

Search the tower for loot. Afterwards, use it's elevated height to scout the nearby area.

What happened yesterday before we found the tower? Whats the interior layout of the tower and how badly damaged is it?

The day before...

You were running away from a small group of cannibal hunters, you were caught releasing their human cattle. You were running until you tripped and fell into a small bank of snow, you saw a corpse nearby, it's skin was frost-bitten and blue, in it's hands was a rifle; your rifle. You walked up and took it. You took a closer look at the corpse, it had a tattered small messanger bag and tattered clothes. you looted the bag which contained a box of shells, a tin of ravioli, and a box of cornmeal. You hear a distant crunching of snow, they're getting closer. You ready the rifle and try the find a vantage point. That's how you found the fire-watch tower, you picked them off one-by-one with the rifle you found.

You scavenge the Fire-watch tower, there was a small table with a pair of chairs in the center, a bunk-bed on the southern wall, a large wardrobe-style cabinet with nearby smaller cabinets on the northward walls, a wood-stove in the same place as the cabinets, and a fridge in the kitchen area. You find a can of pie filling, an aucoustic guitar with a large leather strap, bed an old fur hat with some holes in it, an empty thermos, an old, dented, canteen, a full water jug, a box of flour, a lighter, a storm lantern, a leather satchel, a bag of beef jerky, and a can of beans.

You go out to the outside area of the Tower, you take a quick scan of the area, to the north there's the corpses of the cannibals you took out yesterday and the cannibal camp from the fire trail in the sky, to the east you see some houses and buildings, to the south you see a fire trail, must be the human cattle you freed, to the west you see nothing but trees and snow.

Put on the fur hat with holes in it, something is better than nothing right?
Pick up the lighter, put it in your cargo pants pocket
Pick up the storm lantern, put it in your backpack

Assuming you can drink water straight out of the jug and don't need the canteen for it, just take the jug, otherwise fill the canteen with water and just take that.

Take as much of the food as possible

Smash up the acoustic guitar and use it as fuel to light the woodstove, put any remaining water/half the water from the jug into the thermos and heat it up over the fire, tuck it into your jacket for extra warmth

Now then, do we have a pip-boy, I'm guessing we're not lucky enough to come from a vault?

I'd say save the guitar and break up some of the chairs first, if they are made from wood that is. if you lean a chair on their two front legs, hold the head of the chair in your hand, and put your weight on the back of the seat with your foot, a standard wooden chair will break into three neat pieces.

We should also check the cabinets, and getting something to use as a carrying strap for our new water jug might be a good plan. You can only hold so much in a messenger bag. How do the strings on that guitar look? maybe take the guitars strap to use for our rifle too. speaking of the rifle, how does it look? make, model, caliber?

((Just to note something, the water jug's basically a gallon milk jug. But for water. And if something's a stalemate I'll be the over-ruling vote, in other terms, I decide which decision I like the most.))

You take the two cans and the bag of jerky, you put the cans, the cornmeal, and the bag of jerky into the leather satchel. You put the Jug of water into your backpack, along with the Storm Lantern, you put the canteen in the larger pocket of your cargo pants You smash up two chairs by doing the method that breaks them into three neat pieces. You put two of the six chair pieces into the wood-stove and something blue catches your eye on the top of the stove; A matchbook. You take it and see how many there are, there's 10 matches left. You strike one and light the wood stove. Your rifle is a Lee Enfield MK 3, the wood's in good condition, very few scratches... Rough spots in the wood, it's obivous who owned this before you cared for this rifle dearly, it must've had some sentimental value to 'im. Father's rifle? Probably. The rifle's strap seems to be made of a good sturdy leather, Probably brahmin hide or Yao-Guai. You put the rifle back in it's place and strap the guitar over your shoulder.

And you don't have a pip-boy, it got busted a long time ago.
