Looked a few things up, for 1882 styled weapons, there are a lot of options! You have the generic stuff, pistols, shotguns, rifles, but not a lot of machine guns apparently. (not a gun nut, don't quote me.) They're all low tech-ish though and mostly made of wood, the rifles and shotguns except for barrels. Which isn't really low tech but more of like, life. So yeah, go crazy.

Also, like... it just me, or that seem a bit much? I get Zar is panicking, but to be honest, having panicked soldiers shoot your other soldiers was the stupidest god damn thing in XCOM.

Eh, I'm gonna be honest, I didn't like that very much. Just seems unnecessary. Like, yeah, running back, dropping his knife, closing his eyes and losing a turn, sure, but full on, heavy slash that can dig pretty deep into someone's face seems a little unlikely from a scared twitch.

While I do see your points and value them, this is more interesting than having two more updates about how you kick the shit out of the bat/it flies away when everyone shows up. Which you can/which it will, it's not that tough. Plus, this gives character motivation to maybe like each other less. Black may have hard feelings and blame Zar, and Zar may try to over compensate. It's more interesting.

Other than that, those are just the rolls I got and I'm going to pull through with them. Take the bad and turn it into good roleplay fuel!

Yeah, get that and all and it does lead into ROLEPLAYING and all that. Just seems a bit severe in my opinion. I'm rolling with it right now, just wanted to give some input for the future or somethin'.

ARGLEBARGLED? I don't know what that means, but I somewhat understand through the power of CONTEXT CLUES. It's my new favorite word ever.

Advice taken! I'll try to ease up with these things, perhaps take in more factors like the fact it's a small knife, but if I roll a natural twenty, I roll a natural twenty. That's just the name of the game and my DM probably would've done the same to me. He has, actually. Perhaps I'm secretly releasing pent up anger and descriptively taking it out on your characters through my GM power? Too much to think about right now.
