((Well boo. That's ok, I'm bored, so I'll just ramble forward, hah. Might be just as fun for me to think of ways for someone not to die when they do absolutely nothing and probably should.))
You sit paralyzed with uncertainty in your dinghy as the ship bears down on you. French voices yell down at you, though you can't make out the words through the haze in your mind. You debate fighting, cowering, and a million other options, but can't seem to mobilize yourself to take an action.
There's a loud thump behind you as someone jumps into the dinghy. This doesn't quite shake the fog from your mind, but you do start to turn around. Just in time to meet the butt of a musket. CRACK!
-------
You awake sometime later to the sounds of moaning and the creaking timbers of a ship's hold. Looking around, you find yourself in a makeshift brig, presumably below decks on the corvette.
"Welcome to the Pegase!" an accented voice says from beside you. "We weren't sure you were going to wake up after the hit you took."
You look over, and find you are chained in line with several other prisoners, one of whom looks very sickly and is the source of the moans. The speaker is directly beside you, and is wearing a tattered French navy uniform. He continues:
"These are not maybe the best seats on the boat, but I assure you the company is good. I'm Jean D'Accord, first officer of this fine little boat. Or at least I was - it turns out one should not try to depose a captain when ALL HIS CREWMATES ARE COWARDS!" He yells this last part at no one in particular. "It would appear that they are taking us back to port to be hung as pirates, or at least they will if we can't find our way out of this."
You can't help but agree, and begin looking for some way to escape.
How do you make your awesome escape?
