I actually didn't know Clan had a varient of the Urbanmech, I haven't been heavily into Battletech for a little while so there's either a lot I didn't learn or I've forgotten.
I think people get confused on how to use Gauss Rifles and use them in brawler mechs because they do a **** ton of damage and because the Heavy Gauss Rifle carries traits of a brawler weapon with it's shotgun like damage dropoff and lends itself incredibly well to a devastating alpha strike at close range(Which I'm remembering is a bad idea with Heavy Gauss Rifles for some reason), although IIRC it performs best at medium range most of the time.
Boating is sort of okay, as long as you keep a backup weapon, for ammo using boats at least, if you use a Catapult as an LRM Boat for example, which is exactly what it's built for (and becomes the most annoying thing in the universe with Streak SRMs) then you usually keep at least a laser on there, because if you're not using streak missiles, I'm just gonna bait you to waste all your ammo and then kill you with the lightest mech I can.
Thors are amazing, I used to confuse them with Lokis until I remembered specifically that Loki in mythos is quite odd, and so are Loki mechs. Loki's can be ****ing horrifying to run across with a real good pilot though, but their lack of armour means they're only dangerous for a few seconds, after that you've either stripped the weapons out or outright killed them.
Back in Mechcommander I used to have a liking for Lokis one playthrough, until I kept having all their weapons stripped out by mechs way lighter than them, and they weren't faring well against anything that could match them.
