I can spend a sad amount of time shopping. Also, there is a scientific explanation for why women shop like that. Men in prehistoric times were hunters, and as such were conditioned to bring down and return the first animal they saw. Women however were gatherers, and as such were conditioned to walk out, walk as far as they could to see every possible fruit, and then pick up the best of it on the way back, therefore not wasting energy on sub par fruit. This conditioning lingers slightly to this day, explaining the difference in shopping styles. Also, the reasons for the conditioning are animals move around, fruit usually doesn't.

This also explains why women are usually better at differentiating colors. (It's not pink, it's salmon red!) Because in a hunter/gatherer society, the women had to decide what plants were edible and what wasn't, and the ability to see small differences in color usually helped with this. Those who couldn't usually poisoned themselves and died.
