Since many Scifi elements are included in our Mother Game, I figured it would be appropriate to start a thread related to Scifi discussion in general.  This isn't just about games or I would create it in the other LMG board, but also books, movies, TV, etc.. 


Who here can't wait till the next Star Wars movie comes out?  Think it'll be any good, or will dic kney fu ck it all up?

Im a big fan of scifi. especially Andre Norton. she wrote some DAM good books.

New starwars: I am just hoping against the odds that it won't suck and actually be a good film.
Old SWs (4-6), loved them
Prequels: eh, not the biggest fan in the world, but not on the hate-train

BSG?
Assuming the re-imagined version (not the 70's BSG) I love it, my joint favourite show alongside firefly.
It's an example of "rebooting" a franchise/series done very very right.
I want more TV shows of such quality, rarely has a TV show had me so interested or even move me emotionally.
Also sublime soundtrack by Bear McCreary

The new Star Wars looks really good, and they still have Lucasfims on the team, so I have faith that they won't screw it up.

I've been listening to a lot of ELO lately, specifically their Time album. Good stuff if you're into 80's sci-fi and/or just like their sound.

On star wars
I loved the 4-6 and still do. I thought they were great and growing up I really enjoyed watching them with my dad.
1-3 were okay. I didn't like a lot of the plot or most of the sub plots, so nowadays I watch them primarily for the action and the few sub plots I did enjoy.
I've got a lot of books in the EU for Star Wars, really enjoyed most of them.

Star Trek
Loved the series growing up, though my favorite sub series ( group of seasons...whatever) was the one of Jean Luc Picard. He is one of my favorite Star Trek characters
Again, got a lot of books.

The expanded universe for star wars is better than the movies. By a longshot. I mean, Han Solo is cool, but he ain't got nothing on KYLE KATARN! THE MAN WHO PUNCHED A KYRAT DRAGON TO DEATH, BEFORE HE WAS A JEDI!
