I did like the armor/clothing stuff though. I was a bit put off when I found usable power armor without having to earn it almost immediately after getting to the red rocket gas station, but felt a bit better when I discovered it was more a vehicle than a piece of clothing and that it had to be powered. (I didn't watch any trailers, so I didn't know any of that.)
It's more a shooter than it is an RPG, and though I don't have anything against shooters, I guess that's also putting me off a bit.
Yeah, I mean I still have some faults with Fallout 4 but its starting to grow on me more and more. Did you know if you clear out the huge bandit camps you can read logs from "allied" camps that comment on the loss? The first camp I hit was the one in the Corvega Factory, now every bandit camp I've raided so far has at least one entry about the raid and how that bosses loss affected the crew at the base. Sometimes they'll mourn, other times they get uber pissed, and most of the time they get more guns and armor to fight you with.
Its little things like that, that get me engaged with what I'm doing. Now I just hope the main quest is like that, with whatever I do affecting the gameworld... but so far I've just been wandering around.
Also to comment on the lack of "locations" in the game, I finally figured out why, a lot of it is just in the gameworld, houses, stores, etc... if the windows are busted open or the door is ajar, then its basically a small zone you can enter into a loot.
ALSO ONE THING I'VE LEARNED FROM LOOTING! You know those Vault Tech Lunchboxes, they aren't useless! OPEN THEM! They give out RNG'd goodies like drugs, ammo, and food. Like I just got Ice Cold Nuka-Cola Quantum out of one just now.
