I played Imperial Guard and sent out two or three conscript squads to cap points while I got the barracks up to produce Guardsman, then sent the conscripts to die. After that it was upgrading listening posts directly outside my base with imperial guardsmen squads reinforcing them until I got production up to produce vehicles and stronger squads. Once I got the bane blade though I won the match.
