More reason why I kinda enjoy New Vegas without hardcore mode. The eating and sleeping and such doesn't really seem to add much to gameplay (only sleeping has that major an effect on my in-game habits, as I would already hoard clean water and decent food) and it's easy to stave off getting crippled limbs.

Cass was always one of my favorite companions due to that attitude of hers, but she has a shotgun in a game where the single-shot is the only shotgun to have tolerable spread. Raul meanwhile is also funny, has a more practical perk, and fares better if you make him go full gunslinger.
