Starting up a no-city world myself. Jeez, I had no idea this would mean no gas stations, evac shelters, or anything related to roads whatsoever.

Started off as a Wanderer, so I've got some survival and crafting skills, by the name of Woodrow. He's made a beeline to the nearest mansion once the world started up, where he ended up watching a bear kill all zombies outside before shooting it from a window frame with his crossbow a few times. So I've got a good amount of meat, my crossbow, a stone spear I made, some random guns in the mansion that I'll probably never see ammo for besides what they contain, and a ton of skill books from a few rooms within.

Good start, I'd say.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever considered starting your own fork of DDA? I doubt you'd have trouble finding people who Granola has pissed off who'd like to contribute, and if I'm being honest, you guys being pissed at someone who is actively acting as a dev (whether his ideas are shitty or not) while continually saying you're not wanting to be involved with it anymore, and trying to call him out on their forums leaves a kinda bad taste in my mouth from a "taking the higher ground" standpoint. Besides, it's pretty clear those guys have a very set idea of how they want the game to be, and many people seem to think it's a shitty future for DDA.

I personally would rather play something built by RD and other folks who've given up on dealing with the DDA dev crap than what it seems like they're planning to do. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would enjoy that - even LC's fork got played, and he was arguably just as big of a twat as The Almighty Granola Bar, so I'm pretty sure you guys as non-twats would have some success.

Just a thought.
If I had any idea what I was doing or anyone who could teach me to the point I knew what the fuck I was doing, yes, I would totally make my own Fork. DDA is still a mod, and still has a good game at its core, it just needs some cleanup and a bit of sanity. If anyone else were up for it, I would be willing to put the effort in when I had the free time.

Also, I still always wanted to see whether pet carriers could be made to contain NPCs. And whether contained NPCs/monsters can be cited by other code. Like with ye olde DF's "drink a mug full of caged NPCs" bug.

Also don't add the ability/need to shit. That trash is completely unnecessary in video games. I believe it's a thing set in place because the game dev has a piss/shit fetish, I can't think of any other reason to have it in a game.
