You have BARELY more industry. In the long run, if he plays his cards right, he could outrun you Industry wise, if he spends cash smartly.

I may have barely more industry but I also have 21 more ships, his forces are also split fighting Perigrin too and maybe you? Or are you allied to Rhodri because you seem to be holding the choke point over there.

mrnich04 seems to have a lot of tech-trade agreements. I think his plan is to use the resulting technological advantage to kick everyone's asses. I advise you to refuse any tech-trade offers from him, if you haven't accepted yet.
