Yeah it's fine, I was just pointing it out just in case someone took offence to it, since some people are still a little heated over it even these days. The tension between Britain and Ireland isn't something often talked about these days though, and some people refuse to believe it exists, so it's expected for you to not automatically think about it.
A lot of the French sterotypes, from my experience, are actually fairly accurate, at least the less offensive ones are, a lot of French people have a passion for food in general, partly due to their culture. On the topic of the French Resistance during WW II, they were little more than farmers with crappy weapons the Brits gave to them, that didn't even always work and the Germans were still worried about them.
Edit: On that point, the Liberator would be a good thing to include, it was awful but it definitely worked for the French Resistance. From what I remember about it, it was made as cheaply as possible and airdropped en masse across France. The weapon had only a single shot and was more or less used by firing it into the back of the skull or neck at point blank range, so that the soldiers weapon could then be stolen.
