[DEV] Oldhaven: The Horde

dev thread for an RP I'd like to host in chat in the rec room section of it.

Basic concept is that your a small group of adventurers who get caught in Old Haven during an attack from a group of as-yet-to-be-determined-enemies called the horde. Your powerful, you can take on hundreds of these things, but they've got some special boys mixed into their horde that will mess you up if not dealt with, and going alone is almost never a good choice.
If this does run long enough you'll probably defend oldhaven or evacuate it, but I've got a plan in that case.

Now there won't be classes, but what weapons you take determine what you can do. Got a staff? Blast the enemy with magic fire, or heal allies with soothing breezes from the life tree itself. Got a war hammer? Swing that thing in an arc and destroy anything in front of you in a one-eighty degree arc or bring it smashing down on armored enemies.

The way I've got it figured everyone will have a melee and ranged weapon(magic staves count as ranged). After that there are two slots for limited use items that range from strong healing drafts that restore full health to bombs that you can fling into enemy groups.
You'll get multiple attacks per turn, with the least being two and the most being five, and with switching weapons taking an attack action or your only move action. Melee attacks do give you the option to move one step forward, so if there's a group and you clear the first line of them you can step forward to continue attacking.

Im interested. And it would be a nice idea the creatures to be kobolds. Aaand at the making stage, lets make it on discord. Not that I have a problem with the forum chat, but discord works better on mobile.

Ok, I'll look into discord, might use it might not. And as far as what the enemy is, well I don't know yet, I've got some ideas but nothing I particularly favor over anything else.

Discord looks good, but I'll go ahead and put up a poll to see what everyone wants.
Now onto things!
I'm going to be using an action system, so you get six non move actions(bumping the maximum number of attacks to six because this will work better) and a move action. Attacks can cost one, two, or three actions depending on weapon, and using an item costs one action.

I think I'll just go ahead and make the enemies Kobolds, their rarely used from my experience and should prove interesting.

And a few weapons for you guys

Great Axe
Two handed

Damage: 2d8 (may change)
Arc: 180 degrees

Crossbow
Two handed
Ranged
Action Cost: 2
Damage: 2d8
Single Target

Short Sword & Shield
One handed
Melee
Action cost: 1
Damage: 1d6
Spend 2 actions to prepare shield to block (may change)

Blunderbuss
Two handed
Ranged
Action cost: 3
Damage: 3d6
Hits enemies in a cone


and there's a couple of weapons for you guys. I'll post more stuff up tomorrow.

have some enemy types

Runts
The most common and easily killed of the bunch, not much to be said.

Engineer
Sets traps ahead of the adventurers, when confronted the Engineer throws clusters of grenades and attempts to run or hide.

Riflemen
These kobolds are equipped with three loaded rifles that they use to focus down a singular target. They will unload all of their rifles before slipping into cover to reload. usually shows up in groups of one or two.

Knight
An armored Kobold that takes some effort to put down. Mixed in with runts most of the time though Knights have been known to work in patrol groups of up to six members under a captain.

Captain
An even more armored version fo the Knight, leads patrols of Knights around some areas. Carries a single shot pistol with him.

Gas Soldier
A kobold equipped with a gas mask and gas bombs that deal damage to anything in their area of effect and decrease ranged accuracy to anything effected for a round.
