As you're about to leave, you see if it would be possible to put in the entire belt instead of relying of magazines. While it sounds reasonable enough, it's just not possible. The feed that's where the magazine would go just don't accept belts.
And even if you managed to force it in there, the belt would probably get badly stuck in the rifle, maybe even damaging it.

Though it may be possible to modify it. But you'd have to go to someone else for that, as you currently don't have to know-how to do it.
